I waved good bye to my pair of classic Honda Trail 90's today.

dang, I had hopes for them.

but, I found a snos cat that I really want, and have to sell stuff, to buy it.

*sips at glass*

ah, but Sno Cat sounds awesome.
maybe there'll be more trail 90's out there.

*sigh*.........true, and it carries several people, so, we could have winter Hof parties.
but, those bikes were such a cute pair.

Had a Trail 90..wasn't upset to see it go. Till I found out what a pain in the ass, a 75 VW bug would be! Bugs were MEANT to be Carburated!

Thumps ECM again.... dang, this early waking is worse, spending a week in another time zone did me in. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

But Yggy, a SnoCat sounds sooo sexy! Snooo-cat! Like a cool cool kitty on treads.

Larry made it home alright, staying with his sisters. He had to fly into Ohio, wow, they sure stick it to people renting cars. 36% tax!!!! Bastards. Usually flies into Pitt, but we were pretty sure the connecting flight through JFK wasn't happening. Anyway, he'll be there four days.

Ooooh, shooting. Although I suck with handguns, I'm more of a shotgun girl. A threat to milk jugs everywhere. Have fun!

Revolvers Yggy. I have only shot a gun twice for very brief moments so should be interesting. Still waffling on whether to actually get a gun for protection and whether to get a concealed license which we can do after we finish the course. We live way out in the woods so will probably get something so we are protected. Plus we have acreage to shoot and practice. Not a big gun fan but want to have all the info before I proceed.

Glad to hear YourLarry made it safely to his family AntiM and yeah 36% tax-rate sounds cutthroat. One would think the state would have the "Best foot forward" mentality when dealing with folks from outa state. booogars.
congrats on the new acquisition Ygmir. Snowcats are a lot of fun, planning next years January Bash?
Have fun at the range WB, knock'em dead.
Dougly! beer?

Ok this week is going to be busy and hectic. am thinking of just getting all the freaking out and arm waiving out of the way but something tells me I'll need to reserve myself for the trip north. I am making a wagon for my bike to tow my kayak and am thinking of making it something that can also be used for the Burn. today I get to visit my storage unit, always a fun experience. I have to promise myself; no memory lane! get in get your stuff get out!

have fun!

Woooooooshie!!! I misseded you! welcome home!

If you aren't comfortable or good with a handgun, do consider a home defender shotgun. I've got Larry's hunting 12 gauge shotgun, much too big for me, but one of these days we'll get me a smaller, lighter one. Kills intruders just as dead at close range, and you don't have to aim very well. Point and pump. Just a thought. A bloodthirsty thought on a Monday morning....

I want a double-barrel coach gun, but folks locally are hoarding arms and ammo. Prices at gun-shops are outrageous. :coffee:

A shotgun still needs to be aimed. Typically the shot will not spread much before 5 to 10 feed distance. Thus producing a big hole. Very deadly though at close range, but you still have to aim.

Ah, but you don't have to aim nearly as well as with a handgun.

there is that. The sound of a round being chambered in a pump action shotgun would be a little un-nerving.

yeah loud, but interestingly, when shooting as in hunting, or other adrenaline filled time, you don't even notice the sound, or recoil.
Pattern is also a function of shot size, barrel length and exit diameter (choke).

Yeah BB. I've played that tune, once, for an intruder.........hehehehe.

Definitely a fine 12 gauge shotgun is best
the heft of it alone gives me the balls to face danger
of course then there is the problem of outcome

I notice the recoil! Sucker is dang hard to hang onto, although I can empty all the rounds into a single milk jug and keep it spinning in the air. I really have to brace and my shoulder is black and blue after. Long barrel... comes up nearly to my chin.

But yeah, that double click-clack is definitely a "get the fuck out" melody.

I totally get what you mean about felt recoil in practice, AntiM. I was more pointing to "actual use" as in while shooting at a deer or goose or whatever. Often, a hunter is so excited, they barely notice noise or recoil.

I'd pay a dollar and six bits, to see a video of you hosing your shells into a milk jug!!
