Baby steps, baby steps. I hate those things.
Story time! I want you all to meet one of the most important people in my life ever: My Uncle Buzz.
Brian (Buzz) was an all American football player, national vintage motorcycle racing champion, master storyteller, jokester, father, uncle and all around incredible human being. He would read me The Night Before Christmas every Christmas Eve as a child when I would go visit, take me on motorcycle rides, teach me family history, cook incredible gumbo, shoot a few beer cans with me and give me that one eyebrow up look when I would say something silly.
After smoking for his whole life, he quit 10 years ago. However.. the damage remained. Out of the blue, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes and bones last Aug. 5. He quickly married his partner of 10 years in a hurried ceremony just after the last Burn. He passed on November 5th.. exactly 3 months from the first diagnosis.
The pictures below tell a quick story.. from an attractive high school boy.. to just this last June in what he thought was perfect health.. to a somber wedding and first/last dance with my Aunt.. to a picture taken just weeks before his passing.
FUCK CIGARETTES AND THE PEOPLE THEY KILL AND LIVES THEY RUIN
Quit now. Not e-cigs, just quit. Get healthy before it's too late.
