Aussie looking for Rideshare
Aussie looking for Rideshare
I have been just dreaming to go to Burning Man for years and this is the year I have decided to take action and go, I am looking for some fellow Aussie burners to possibly travel down with and rideshare as I don't really want to do the burn solo.

No clue where in Australia you are trying to come from, but you may want to reach out regionally.

What 9ah said...you've got plenty of time to connect with locals, establish relationships, and solidify logistics between now and Burn time. There w/b a Rideshare link activated later, about mid-July or so, but start making your connection as early as possible...don't wait until the last minute.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Share Resources board, since that's a better fit for rideshare posts. I'll also third what 9ah said, connecting with the regional group is a great place to start - not only to possibly connect with campmates, but to get some tips and trips about the unique logistics hurdles you face getting from Australia to the US and then out to the desert (packing, shipping, customs, renting vehicles, etc etc).
Re: Aussie looking for Rideshare
Thanks alot guys, I'll also post on the regional forums but it seems like its been pretty inactive past few years. Hopefully will have better luck in the share resources board.

Make sure you've signed up for the mailing list as well, that will include information about any events happening in the region.

I just want to be sure you know that there is a very strict "No Wining*" policy in place for Australians. Enforced by the ever dangerous International Incident.
*It's actually a "No Winjing" policy, but contrary to popular opinion, I can't spell.

Thanks Fishy! I'm doing my best to make Australia a whining free zone.

Re: Aussie looking for Rideshare
And why, precisely, should this year be any different?
Re: Aussie looking for Rideshare

Hey Karmaz . . . you may want to check the 2013 Theme Camps forum now, and in a month or two once things get busier. You don't necessarily have to be based out of the same city or country as a camp in order to meet up with them on the playa.

If you're in Melbourne go to the monthly potluck and beers nights.
If you're not in Melbourne - move.
