That would also suck if someone was using public wifi somewhere and another person tried after them/folks at the same company... I know a few people that work/burn together (Googler's for one)....

We have that issue here, there are 10 of us or so in one office, and we crush our little T1 line trying to get tix at the same time I am sure. So far it hasnt told any of the other lads to get bent yet - your mileage may vary

After 45 minutes, I received a "Connection Reset", reloaded the page, and reentered my code, as instructed on the web page. This happened five times or more, with several minutes of correct updating in between resets. Finally the page says
"You have reached our limit for trying. Please contact customer support for more information."

Wow - unbelievable! A failure of design and testing on multiple levels.

There's no denial of service in progress, it's just the kind of sheer volume of traffic that would make even big cloud server hosts choke and gag just a little. The burningman.com and eplaya.burningman.org sites aren't hitting any high water marks (the peak for the boards was nearly double today's traffic), but it's definitely busy.

That is good to know! (I had my evil hat on there for that post.)

I have noticed that there is a percentage of people who tend to panic when anything Burning Man related does not behave as they expect... Ticket sales are one of those extra panic times

I've just got confirmation from the ticket team, the passcode not registered error is a cookie issue. Clear your cookies (or switch browsers, since cookies are browser-specific), you should be set to go.

Last year they did a lottery. Which is a different sales scheme - not to be compared at all (apples vs bananas)

The first year the tickets sold out (in 2011), the tickets did not sell out until late June (I think)...

It is too early to panic. (A determined burner will be able to find a ticket!! Plan to go regardless, you will find a ticket.)

Got in at 12 and 51 seconds. At 1:10 my password locked out. 1:13 back on with different browser. It's now 2:50.

QUESTION: Should I stay put.....or

clear cookies and try going back on with original browser?

Logic being it would remember my place in line, instead of staying put at a 1:13 start time.

Ok my buddy got 2 tickets under his name , will his name be on both tickets?

Names are not printed on the tickets. The ticket order is in his name - if they're being mailed out then when he receives them he can give the other to someone else without needing to do anything extra. If they're being held at will call, he will need to be the one who picks up the order at the box office.

It appears that the supply has run dry.

The next opportunity for tickets will be the Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP), which opens up in a few weeks. Stay tuned for more info on that process. Additionally, 1000+ tickets will be sold in the OMG sale in August, and of course burner-to-burner aftermarket sales.

Got tickets! 6 of us are coming to BM from Brisbane in Australia.

It took 4 hours for all of us to get tickets but we got there in the end. We all logged in at 6am our time so some of us had to be late for work. shame!

So excited.

Yeah, when people say to me BM tickets are expensive, I ask them what Superbowl tickets are going for.... 3 hours at min of a thousand bucks. BM- 7 to 10 days.... do the math! Welcome Aussie Burners!

wow. 4k low income. 3k pre sales (did they sell out?). 10k direct (did they sell out?) and 40k main sale.... gone....
though only 57k tickets + 1k more for OMG as opposed to 61k last year. (wasn't that the number?) i'm betting BMorg releases more tickets into STEP once they get their permit from BLM.
