The whining about 15 minute waits in the main sale queue today made me think about the 2011 queue.
How long did folks the got in that queue wait before they were able to purchase tickets?
My wait was about four hours... Thankfully I had two monitors at work. Sadly, I watched the queue get rebooted and lost my spot along with many others.

Re: 2011 Ticket Queue
I think total, my wait was like 6 or 7 hours. That includes the Server Crash wait time.
Luckily, the counter that they had in 2011 said I had that I had a similar spot in line. Could have been a coincidence as 1,4## is pretty similar to 1,2##. Though, I kinda remember that I started over 2,000th in line at first.

Re: 2011 Ticket Queue
I remember 2011 being an absolute nightmare for the queue - the crash added a huge amount of time to how long people were waiting, and the complaints about not getting "their" tier because of it...
And then the tickets didn't even sell out until July, everyone was just trying to get a cheap(er) tier...

Re: 2011 Ticket Queue
I'm giving this a nudge over to the 2013 Tickets Discussion board. Even though it's about the 2011 queue, it's in the context of this year's ticketing process, and I think that's a better fit.
That bit said, 2011 was all kinds of painful. I want to say that I got through in 4-5 hours, and I consider myself incredibly lucky. To me the most maddening and frustrating part of that process was how it attempted to show my place in line. At each refresh I'd move up a bit (I was #128 in line when the gates opened), and then everything just froze for the longest time and that was followed by suddenly being something like #11,000 or some crazy nonsense. Just as I was having a heart attack about that, blammo I was through.
If memory serves, Shambala really went through hell that day. Perhaps when he gets a couple minutes he can share his pain.

Re: 2011 Ticket Queue
Well, let's see:
2010:
10am sale time (got in the queue at 10:00am), tickets purchased at 1:59pm (basically 4 hours)
2011:
10am sale time (got in the queue at 10:00am), tickets purchased at 2:31pm (basically 4 1/2 hours)
2012:
2013:
12pm sale time (got in the queue at 12:00pm), tickets purchased at 1:45pm (basically 1 hour, 45 minutes)
Not sure what that says about selling tickets a 10am...

Re: 2011 Ticket Queue
My 2011 experience was pretty close to todays. Both times at work.
2011, put into queue about 12:00:10. Sat 1k in line and waited for 30 mins. Refreshed after crash, bumped to 10k. Again, bumped to 20k. And so on. Left screen open
Went out for an install for work, which took three hours. Came back to a crashed screen. Refreshed, "Here's Your Tickets!"
Both times have been a slight inconvenience. Today only took 2 hours with three crashes and two complete resets.
