New Burner from Texas

Hi Everybody!
My name is Kim- I'm an art teacher/ artist/ grad student from Houston.
I finally got my ticket yesterday so YAY- it's really happening . . . I'm going to Burning Man! (Happy Dance) I have wanted to go for years, and finally got the gumption make it happen.
* Actually, my amazing friends- and returning Burners/ Lamplighters Mary Frances, Cliff, Emma, TJ (Cupcake) encouraged me to attend this year.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone on the playa

OH GURL!

This is my friend, and she is awesome! We gave her the first-timer's guide as part of her Christmas present, and she's been reading up on all of the specifics. I think her personality, her hard-working mentality, and her giving sense of self are going to culminate at Burning Man in the most beautiful way.

Now, I had an absolute blast last year, and I like to think that I did a good job of avoiding the virgin pitfalls and contributing in a real way. Kim is going to blow us "experienced" burners out of the water! She has the true artist persona within her, and I can already tell that the playa is her true Home.

I'll admit that when I saw that she's an artist, I was super excited for her . . .

(Even though I think this event brings out the latent artist even in folks who don't think of themselves as artistic, and that's especially beautiful too.)
