I couldn't speak to the specifics of DVD Burner's situation (his/her departure happened while I was away), but generally speaking nobody ever gets randomly chased off of anything. They may feel like they were chased off by meanies while minding their own business, but 99% of the time that kind of stuff comes in the wake of their own behavior. If you walk into a room and start namecalling or trying to pick fights or randomly spouting nonsense, eventually people will call you out on that.

As for PieHole, I suspect he may just be off doing stuff. A quick search shows he was active as recently as December, and if I remember correctly I think he mentioned something about moving, and I think he mentioned that he's not sure if he'll be going to Burning Man in 2013.
