Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Texas, South Carolina, and Idaho, meanwhile, are pleading with Magpul to relocate to their more gun-friendly states.
"South Carolina would welcome Magpul with open arms," US Rep. Jeff Duncan (R) wrote to the company.
"South Carolina is a freedom-loving state.
The Second Amendment is very near and dear not only to the folks in my district, but to folks in the entire state."

Feinstein's Gun Ban Law
Ban the sale, transfer, manufacture or importation of 157 named firearms. Presumably, these were chosen by looking at pictures, as Sen. Feinstein has said she did before introducing her first legislation on the issue in 1993.
Ban all semi-automatic rifles that can accept a detachable magazine. This is because the bill would ban any semi-automatic detachable-magazine rifle that has even one "feature," particularly a pistol grip—which is defined to include any "characteristic that can function as a grip." Other features that would cause a rifle to be banned include a forward grip; folding, telescoping, or detachable stock; grenade launcher or (as an absurd propaganda move) rocket launcher; barrel shroud; or a threaded barrel.
Ban all detachable-magazine semi-auto pistols that have any of the following: a threaded barrel, second pistol grip, or magazine that mounts anywhere other than the grip. The bill would also ban any handgun that is a semi-automatic version of a fully automatic handgun.
Ban all semi-automatic rifles and handguns that have fixed magazines that accept more then 10 rounds.
Ban all semi-automatic shotguns that have just one of the following: a folding, telescoping, or detachable stock; a pistol grip; a fixed magazine that can accept more than five rounds, a detachable magazine; a forward grip; a revolving cylinder; or a grenade or rocket launcher. As with the rifle provision, this could potentially ban any semi-auto shotgun, because all of them have "characteristics that can function as a grip." And of course, countless Americans have pistol-grip shotguns for home defense.
Ban all belt-fed semi-automatic firearms, such as semi-auto replicas of historic machine guns.
Ban all frames or receivers of banned guns, even though in many cases they are identical to the frames and receivers of guns that would not be banned.
Ban "combinations of parts" from which "assault weapons" can be assembled. Read broadly, this could ban the acquisition of a single spare part that could be combined with parts you already own.
Ban any "part, combination of parts, component, device, attachment, or accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle"--a vague definition that could ban items such as competition trigger parts.
Ban the sale or transfer of all ammunition feeding devices that hold more than ten rounds. Even those lawfully possessed before passage of the bill could never be transferred, even to your heirs through a will.

DI-Fie is pandering to her base, though, too........the Bar Area and uban ultra left, that want all of us to turn our guns in......because they of course know, we will if asked.
And, they know if anything is illegal, no criminal would even think about doing or owning it.
I like that she has armed security, though.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Spent the afternoon at the Northern Nevada Day of Resistance rally. Very cold - lots of open carries - lots of AR15 and a few AKs. Other than showing off I have no idea why a person would carry open but that is just a personal opinion. Had a number of state politicians and Congressman Amodei (Nevada) talk about legislation they were supporting. I'm still thawing out. One lucky sole won the raffle - 1000 rounds of .223
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Now that they have thrown all the laws up for discussion, it isn't about status quo any longer.
I want the law to go back to 1965.
I want to legally restore my kalashnikov to select fire.
We don't need the current hundreds of thousands of gun restrictions.
Thirty should cover it.
And states should lose arbitrary limitations on the rest of the country's citizens.
Why do I lose the right to defense just by entering california?
That will end.

Hmmm.....
Got my taxes back....
Do I buy a gun or a playa trike conversion kit?
Decisions, decisions.......
I heard that now when you go to a hospital ER that one of the questions they're gonna ask you right along with the
"Are you allergic to any medicines?"
is
"Are there any guns in your house?"
Another ploy to gather private info!

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
yeah Martiansky, info......data base.......anyone who does not think the gov. wants to keep track of exactly who owns guns, and possible how many and what type, is delusional.
Things here in CA are coming apart at the seams, as far as gun ownership goes. The legislature are all having an anti gun orgy, and "one upping" each other, as to how strict and vague they can be.
I see so many laws aimed at taking away "law abiding citizens" guns.......how about a plan to take guns away from criminals. The guns they already have, not some vague "potential" that has no focal point.

I love the attention whores on YouTube, waving their assault rifles around, trying to say "you'll never get this from me!" etc...
If the government does decide to take your guns away, don't make it easy for them to find you.
Duh.
By the way, my weapons were all stolen long ago.

Mine fell into a deep dark lake that is nearby!
Except for....Now they want to make a law making it a criminal act if you "sell" your guns to
family members or "lose" them somehow and you don't "report it".
But hey....THEN....lets cut funding to the military and law enforcement and boarder patrols and then take away the rights of law abiding citizens
to own guns so that we then have little to no protection against the non-lawabiding "citizens" that have unregistered guns, who will take advantage of the situation.

Shop carefully.
Maybe look for parts kits, or unconventional types?
Lots on cl and offers to trade.
May be a good time to trade something for guns.
i could pay all my bills right now with a box of cheap guns.
Most I see are going for double, but I have heard of ARs going for three times what they're worth.
Only way that works is if you are in an area that gets grandfathered in to harsher laws.
CF had an underfold Yugo that went for 900, about double.
Sold out.
Because background checks don't work, there are often people that are legal to purchase and own guns, but can't go through an ffl for technical reasons.
They will often pay more or trade better.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Gyre, I was kind of being sarcastic with the "which should I buy" comment. Although the thought had come up!
But you are very correct with saying its a bad time to buy.
Fear of the bans have given sellers what they think is the right to drive prices to the moon!
I'm glad I made my purchases last year!
I thought id pick up a couple more 10/22 magazines.....BAH.... the prices are crazy for them!
Probably should just buy more ammo instead.
Remember....buy ammo with cash because they can track all your ammo purchases youve made with your plastic!
"Sir/Ma'am, why did you purchase 10,000 rounds of 22LR?"
"Target shooting of course!"

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
You may not have any better luck with ammo now.
I have a few boxes of 9mm corbon I don't need.
I'm hoping to trade them for a car.
My friend got his PS90 in and also had a chance to fire the select fire model.
He says any doubts of effective power are gone.
It will almost penetrate a quarter inch plate mild steel with 24 grains.
Says he can fire it one handed easily.
I will be firing it soon.
I'll let you know how it goes.
He also reports he can't get any more ammo for it anytime soon, past what he has now.
He was offered $3500 for it at a show recently.
Bear in mind this is a poor area.
It's not for sale though.

I don't know if this should go here or somewhere else.
We could almost use a separate thread just for defense politics now.
This is the 911 call from a former ball star in Memphis.
Shots are audible.
His body was found nine days later.
http://www.abc24.com/news/local/story/S ... nuSwA.cspx
His mother:
"I want everyone to hear it because I want them to know he was calling for help and it was ignored."
Marion stated, "I tell my grandkids don't call 911, call your grandma because 911 isn't going to do you any justice."
How bad is crime?
We just had someone drive through the front of a house and then get away.
Hit and run.

Crime?
I blame poverty and/or laziness. Massacres....Mental Health. 3 topics our government has sidestepped since before I was born. The rich need poverty. The Companies need laziness. And the insurance companies Do Not need Mental Health!
Guns are symbols. People cling to symbols more than logic. Guns are an easy target..ESPECIALLY in the post W. America!..When people became USED to and HAPPY to give up personal liberties!

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Poverty isn't all of it, but it's related.
During "reform", they cut off 70% of food stamp recipients, welfare, etc, arbitrarily.
This area already had unemployment.
Turns out people still want to eat.
Crime went up fast, people fled the city in droves.
The city won't go after crime.
Fakes statistics like many other cities.
Cutting off unemployed people saved millions, cost billions.
Work training?
Sure, deadend minimum wage poverty level only.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
We just had someone arrested for stealing a million pounds of metal.
The city tore down the old Ford plant, a classic patterned brick building, which tells you how stupid the city is.
This guy tore up a quarter milllion dollars worth of perfect concrete foundation, stealing in plain sight.
Nearly got away with it.
On a more esoteric level, we had someone shoot their wife, rural area.
Went out to bury the body, got stuck and died of heart failure trying to move her.
The level of violence is what makes people flee though.
Carry permits have done more to stop the city becoming a Dhalgren than anything else.
Other cities too, no doubt.
Chicago is what happens without security.
Statistics say most thieves are lazy, or not greedy, you pick.
Just enough to get by.
Then there is a small percentage that steal non-stop.
Drug driven or ambitious, the worst were raised by thieves, literally.
Sociopaths? They're everywhere.
Problematic when they're on the other end of a robbery.

Losing tax base too.
I wish I knew what to do about it.
We don't even pursue the obvious now.
Hence the easy laws, instead of real change.
Maybe it's just what happens when you stress people enough?
Looking at other countries, it gets a lot worse.

The sad truth is, there are assholes in the world...who will use guns. And we will have to defend our own character every fucking time! My strategy, is to be nice and politely explain my position. Mentioning that Im a burner liberal doesn't hurt. Don't burn bridges...spread knowledge.

I like earmuffs with inserts.
I was recently told about a custom fitted active noise reduction insert used for shotgunners because muffs get in the way.
Can't remember the brand, but $600 per ear.
Very effective, I'm told.
Same person recommends thermacell for mosquito repelling.
Anyone else use these?
