Where's Simon? We need a photo of those shoes with a banner... These boots don't have to walk to get ALL over you....
I am so enamoured of CFish having these, I may have to bring some as a gift. (Nodding vigorously). Its a vision!

Don't bother. Even when I had feet, I wore pretty plain, pretty practical stuff. I don't know why I hang out in this thread, but it's not about me and footwear.

how about a hug then?

I think you might like one maybe, or something that you might cherish, like a nice book?

Is there anything I could maybe pick you up over here, that you might like?
It is a thread about footwear, but its not the same without your cunning wit

I am not mocking CFISH. She is one of my fave characters on this Board. She is brave, self-reliant, and stoic.
I admire her.
And, since she has taken an interest in this thread, I was thinking she might be interested.
I'm sorry if ny enthusiasm was misplaced.

Re: Playa Boots
From a friend...
I am who I am. I'm not a project, when I need help, I'll ask. In fact, unsolicited help tends to decrease the chance I'll take help when needed. Because, even being who I am, I need to stand on my own two feet. Plus, being fussed over is annoying to mild claustrophobia.
And I do know that everything was well-meant, and given in a warm spirit.
It really hurts my feeling when someone says "I would love to give you a makeover".
What this tells me is that the person doesn't like me as I am. I know I am not a fashion queen, and I fail on dressing feminine, some reasons I dress like I do is for concealment, I dont like my shape I and will not wear anything revealing in this shape. I dont need makeup, why would I spend all that money to feel like a clown and turn my face into a picture someone else would like. I am working on finding a fashion style suitable to me and I dont need anyone's help, its personal.

Re: Playa Boots
Just got my boots from Bakersfield! They're Scorpions, made by Ridge Outdoors U.S.A. A knock off of the Israeli boots, but pretty much the same. Except they didn't have black in my size....FUCKERS! Canvas is a little bit heavier than Chuck Taylors, but still light as a feather!..except the soles..

anything worth doing is worth overdoing..
Re: Playa Boots
Really nice...I would go for the black ones.

Spray Paint
Spray paint usually flakes off of shoes, eventually leaving bald spots. (I've tried). I'm a proponent of the shoe dye with sponge tip applicator in the shoe care section of larger stores . . .
I used it successfully on some purple Nubuck boots I found at a vintage store; totally covered the flaws and I wore 'em for years.

My shoes for 2013 I hope. I need to replace the 3 inch soles. They've been in storage for since the 90's and the soles are falling apart from dry rot.

Are those shoes, or a pair of butt-plugs?

Asquared, I love the knee high converse too! (Sorry, Yggy. If it's any comfort, I can't wear spaghetti straps, and you totally can!)
. . . Though I pretty much live in my knee-high leather boots.
Nothing wrong with ankle boots, too. If you have room, bringing several pairs of comfortable, broken-in shoes is smart. Knee-high footwear is so common out there because the dust drifts up a bit. Tall socks on a clean leg will afford additional protection, but even if your calves are bare, the dust is less likely to eat your calves like it could eat your feet. (Playa foot might be a sweat issue and a "not being able to see the back of your toes easily" issue . . . calves aren't very sweaty).
Bring socks that are as tall as your boots. (Even cut some tights off if you are thrifty, and roll 'em down . . . or pull up, with or without garters.) The zipper on the back of those converse may rub against your leg. It did against mine. Had to Neosporin and bandage the back of my ankle and be more careful.
My favorite procedure before spending 12 hours in tall boots: plenty of lemon juice on a baby wipe all over calves and feet + air dry or pat dry + lotion up + put socks and boots on.
