o.k., I think the cat is disguised as a hot pan with a little butter in it: waiting for someone to drop an egg into it's mouth.
and oops... Wowee Delle!

Whatever that cat's intentions, he must KNOW we've got our own. Cat's know. He's just fucking with us at this point.

Heya Mr. Magic.
I just wanted to tell you that your pottery still lives on my bedpost. Just so you know. I've got bits of lots of you scattered physically around the house, and bits of ALL of you scattered all over my heart and soul.
I'm trying not to be stranger. It's just not fucking working for me these days.

Looks like our bouncer deleted the lonely gentleman seeking female companionship. I suppose that's for the best.
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
I really liked the next show he did, John From Cincinnati, though it was cut short.
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Say... about Deadwood. I have not seen the TV show, but I sure read the excellent novel by Pete Dexter. Glancing thru a synopsis of the TV series -- Calamity Jane nursing the epidemic victims and so forth -- is this not based on Dexter's novel? I see no reference to a connection.
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Parker writing, as far as i recall.
He probably read widely though.
I know he referenced as many real people as possible.
Milch is really brilliant, and not just as a writer.

Yg, I recommend any of the commentary with Milch on it.
Elliot, netflix has it on disc.

funny, Elliot, that is the episode I just finished watching.
And I agree with Marty, that all in all, maybe one of the best series for TV, ever. Very raw, and guttural at times, yet poetic and feeling.
sigh........
If you've not seen it, Elliot, I'd so highly recommend it.....with the advice you see it, start to finish. the sub plots and such are every bit as good as the general story.

Fun Facts
Milch was expelled from Yale law school for shooting a police car siren with a shotgun.
He did Luck and is working on a Faulkner series for hbo, last I heard.
Deadwood would be a lot more satisfying if they had finished it.
They planned more.

Milch's effort to mix educational levels and speaking styles in Deadwood has a particular ring of truth.

Quiet in here. Too quiet.
I can hear train whistles in the distance. No, really, I can.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Morning, Pink, AntiM. Oh the melancholy of a distant train whistle. Kick starts the ECM and dials high octane. Up early this morning to get over to Pier 15 and help set up for the big Exploratorium Move In volunteer event today. Not a very good early morning person. The weather is set to be beautiful today, sunny with temps in the high 60's. Still dark out with the slightest hint of dawn in the eastern sky. Beautifully quiet with not a leaf stirring. My family will come by at the end of my shift at 11 AM and we'll all go over to the Ferry Building for a bite of lunch and a bit of wandering about. Free chamber music event late in the afternoon. Should be a perfect day in Paradise.

*wanders in, makes CCCW*
ah, yeah, getting to watch several episodes in a row. What a fun evening.
cocksuckah, indeed pink!! Hang dai (sp?)
The wonder of the language there, enthuses me to speak correctly, and with more eloquence.
But, I end up saying "fuck" or "cocksucker" about every other word, owing to the dialog and my emulation, thereof.
*clicks TV, heads for IBBOD*

Happy Dosanko day!
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Deadwood the TV series "must" be Dexter's novel. Dexter is capable of withdrawing his name if there were some sort of "differences". I'll see if I can get my hands on the TV series and re-read the novel. I also recommend all Dexter's novels.

Hahahaa... here too, no change. All year long, it's Mountain Stranded Time!
Sorry to have missed my awesome sister Dell yesterday. We went (with TinkerMom) to a fundraiser in Scottsdale for the Temple for Saguaro Man. Met some very cool Burners there, and had a very fun time. Phoenix isn't one of my favourite places to go; usually it's 'get to the airport on time, and get the fuck out of Phoenix'.
This time, though, we made a one-stop-shopping-for-tools experience on the way home, and escaped the city with a bunch of new goodies, all with Burning Man in mind. FUN!

Right on Triken. Marty, what a great day you described. Deadwood. RAH! DST screwed me up. I had to be at work at 5A, and that hour was sorely missed.
