Re: One Item for BM a Day
Our 6 feet of mole skin arrived, 1000 zip ties and my new dust mask (bandannas are NOT effective virgins!) hopefully less playa lung this year.
Going to go buy the other car port in 2 days and same day order the ground cover. Talked to tom today... thinking it might be a kick ass idea to turn it into a giant candyland! What do you guys think?

I'd suggest a basket, or a used one of those trailers you lock your kids in when you're riding a bike.clocksnmirrors wrote:scored a sweet bike off craigslist!!

great ideas. this came with a basket (kinda hard to see in the photo) but a towing unit would be a super addition! i'll have to keep an eye outilly dilly wrote:I'd suggest a basket, or a used one of those trailers you lock your kids in when you're riding a bike.

OK, now I totally see the basket.
As for those little tow along kid cages. We're planning on getting one. Can throw all sorts of stuff in there. Including a deep cycle battery to power lights. A 6 pack of ice will fit easily. And, if necessary, you could even pile your overly intoxicated camp mate in there.

And, on that note, just did some craigslistting, and I might go pick this one up tonight!!!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Been sewing up a storm, although some of it I wouldn't wear personally. Have made several scoodies, loin cloths, and vests.
Picked up some fleece to make pants for night time warmth and in the planning stages of fuscia / black zebra print fleece cargo pants (well not necessarily cargo pants but at least something with a few pockets a la BDU pants).
I also picked up some cottons in interesting prints for some lounging pants and have plans for a light playa jacket and another full length playa coat.

Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

beverly hillbilly style... i'm loading up the truck!
i did the cross country drive last year no problem. this year i'm relocating west so the drive will be broken up over the next few months.
i'm also looking into a 6x12 enclosed trailer for the move and to use as shelter for TTITD

Who needs a trike when you can get a cruiser and a trailer? The trailer folds down so it is much smaller, and bikes fit on those trailer hitch type bike racks way better than a trike!
Here is the lil guy in our garage, pre pimped out.
Last year, I bought some 12vdc cold cathode lights, per suggestion on a thread around her someplace. They are super bright, but pull hella juice, so I'd need a good recharable 12vdc battery, I never ended up using them cause the 12vdc would be too heavy. So, gonna attache the cold cathode lights to the trailer. And do some sorta other shit.
Current ideas include: Either painting or recovering with more unique fabric, for day.
Trimming with one of the weather proof RGB LED strips, hopefully 12vdc. I have a BEEFY deep cycle battery sitting in my garage. It hasn't been tested, charged, or used since 2011 when we replaced all the deep cycles in the RV. Of the 2 deep cycles replaced 1 was damaged so i exchanged it for trade in value, I still have the non damaged just old one. We replaced the two 12v in parallel with two 6v in series. Only thing about the deep cycle I have is that it weighs A LOT. There are smaller lighter 12vdc batteries out there for stuff like RC Cars, Barbie Jeeps, etc.
::END RAMBLE::
Anyway, here is a picture.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Shit!
I've wanted to do that for so long, Illy.. except.. my vision was the mobile disco machine..
Take one of those trailers. Strip it of the canvas. Build a lightweight speaker box that houses 2 6X9 speakers. Strap a deep cycle battery and a small 2 channel car stereo amp to it. Take some PVC pipe/fittings and build a 6' high hanger for a disco ball. Hang disco ball. Make a small halo of 5mm dome LEDs around the bottom of it to shine upwards and refract outwards. Build some fold out STOP signs like a school bus.
VOILA! Tow that sucker out mid playa and randomly pop the stop signs out and insta-disco..

We're still not sure what the plan is exactly. Sound is a must for sure. Just not sure to what extravagance.
Keeping it fold-able/compact-able, for traveling, is a major must for us.
On the previous note, make sure the one you find folds up or breaks down in a relativity easy fashion.clocksnmirrors wrote:well that settles it. i have to have one.illy dilly wrote:Anyway, here is a picture.

I could totally see a lil bike trailer covered in fake flowers like the head dress hat dealy in your pic.

Sweet bike, Clocks! I picture the the bike covered in flowers, too.
Illy, awesome score!
Today I have given myself a slight headache thinking about this dress project. Trying to merge technology and aesthetics is making my head explode.

thanks illy. i'll keep that in mind.
you, savannah and cherry have great minds! i was thinking about flowering up my wheels, which i've decided to name the "li'l monster"
today i made progress on my spaceman helmet. the back story is an alien crash landed while doing a cargo delivery run. i rescued it and nursed it back to health. a torrid, intergalactic affair ensued. unfortunately the mother-ship showed up and the alien dropped me like advanced calculus. this helmet was a memento of those blissful nights of probing passion...

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Got some more blinkie stuff in the mail today, I'm most excited about a set of glowing/blinking leg warmers. I closed myself in the bathroom (because it's light outside!) and tried them out, SO cool, they glow really bright!!
Also got the last of the decorative stuff for my bike, so sometime soon I'll start the process of actually decorating my wheels!
