Driving from the Pacific Northwest to BRC? Free camping!

If you are driving from the Pacific Northwest we wish to gift you a place to stay and rest on your way to Black Rock City. We have offered free camping to people going and coming since 2006 and again this year 2013. For those who have never been here, we are located 60 miles south of Klamath Falls, Oregon in California just off California Hwy 139.

Here is our gift to you. A place to camp (free), rest (free), prep your mutant vehicle (free) and just relax in a safe secure, privately owned, property. In the past years we have closed the RV park to only burners but we have found that people staying here love meeting burners and learning all about Burning Man. We have bathroom facilities with showers if you need it. Our water comes from a well that is over 300' deep and the water is great, better then bottled I would think. We can fill a 50 gallon drum in less then 5 minutes and the water is a gift to you.

Early entry folks, Rangers, Med Staff, Fire folks, Theme camps all welcome. Some people like to stay here from Friday and leave to arrive at sunrise on Monday morning. Naturally the same thing goes for on your way home after the event.

In 2011 we stopped counting at 500 people and that was on Sunday afternoon, I figure another couple hundred came after that. A lot of people come in late at night, take a shower get some sleep and head on out again. Other people stay longer as I said above. We kinda leave it to you guys to not make a mess and Burners live up to that request!!

It's a really good place to stop if you're coming from Portland, Tatonka. It's approximately 7 hours away from Portland, with about 5 hours left to go (plus entry wait of 3-5 hours at peak times).

WeDeliver is a great guy... one year there was an unpublished surprise extra requirement for MVs to have two red normal taillights (I think it was pressure from the regular police) and our man WeDeliver gave me the taillights right off his trailer to use for the week on my MV. He showed up at my camp on Monday to put 'em back on his trailer for the trip home.

I have stopped in at their place the last two years, and plan to do the same thing again this year. Great place, friendly owners, great showers, very good water... it is a great place to stop if you are driving from Klamath Falls and the rest of Oregon.

Bring a gift for WeDeliver if you can. The place will be full of Burners, its a great place to get started on your way to the dust.

Absolutely! I've been driving to BRC from Seattle for over ten years; originally I did it in one big loooong day but it's MUCH nicer to split it up.
Nowadays I even split it into three; Seattle to burner friend's place in Portland first, then to Cedarville the next day, then to the playa the next.
The only reason I don't stop at WeDeliver's is that I'm getting 5 or 6 MPG in my truck hauling all my stuff and can't afford venture at all off of the most direct path!

There is a (Burner friendly) by Paisley Or... Bout 250 mile out from the playa..

Cedarville is around 80 mile out.. I try to make Cedarville before dark,eat,gas and go 40 mile to a gravel pit.. The off road pit could hold 50 camper..The last two times I was there some wild freak winds come thru.. Lasted a few mins. but blasted everything..

I have thought it would be nice to soak in their hot springs and party with a bunch of burners on the way to BRC, but I have had to stay here.

Anyway, we don't "profit" since we don't charge money. Humm, maybe we do profit in GOOD FEELINGS!! Come set up your tent, sleep in your car, take your last shower before heading the 130 miles to Black Rock City, fill your water tanks...we offer this as our gift since a gift is a good thing.

No we don't need any treats or gifts. Our offer is simple, knowing that people made it safely to their destination is treat enough for me.

Great offer. We are waffling going through Bend and Paisley or K-Falls. I assume you are on the K-Falls route, right? Need to google and see where you are. We are coming from Gresham/ Mt Hood. Any suggestions which route is better with a rv?

For traveling from Gresham/Mt Hood, I highly recommend the Hwy 26/97, etc. route thru Lakeview and Cedar Pass. Not only can you stop for a nice soak at Summer Lake Hot Springs, it completely avoids Porkland, OR traffic.

Um. I've been down these roads in my '82 Chevy school bus. The easiest grades and corners comes from driving down to Eugene and then heading over the cascades on Hyw 126 to the 97 and Klamath falls. There is a hot spring at the Cougar lake Resivor 50 miles out from Eugene. These inclines are much more forgiving on larger loads and a good portion of Southern distance is made on I-5 and that increases gas mileage and time. We've avoided traffic in Pitlandia by going around the east side on 205.

Hi all, just wanted to add the note that sometimes getting home from the burn is much harder then getting to the burn. Being rested will help you drive those long roads to the North, so my offer stands for on the way home also, folks have come in and slept for 2 days before emerging ready to drive the rest of the way home.
