London brings underground house music

Post by DanLondon » Wed Mar 20, 2013 9:12 pm

Hello everyone,

so happy to see the forum buzzing away, the spirit of the desert is swirling around and about the whole World already it seems. x

Ok, i don't normally post on forums of any kind, unless i am helping someone or asking for help! This year i am moved by the above mentioned spirit to mention what i'm about and what i'm doing at Burning Man.

Last year we ran Terminal Y, a largely Brit camp, it went well, we gave away free drinks for a week from the club we built in the sand.

I've run LondonSoundSystem for many years, from a young age, it's a very underground organisation that is born of the original West Indian culture that gave us so much that was joyous in London whilst i was growing up, in it's early incarnations we installed very high quality sound into very unusual venues and had some very decadent parties, marrying individual expression, taste and culture with superlative production values. Then came very fashionable parties, then West End nightclubs and now also back toward very underground parties, playing the very best in what is largely a London, Berlin & Hamburg sound. To give you some idea, that is if you're still with me of course, check out parties such as; Half Baked, Split Milk, Fuse, Toi Toi, Dented Melons, Jaded to name a few off the top of my head.

Next year it is planned to take a Super Art Car, a Vintage London Underground 'Tube' train with a ground breaking (literally), State of the art, 'Martin Audio' Sound System, specially designed for Burning Man by the company. Incorporated will be some super fun features and graphics from some of the leading video graphic artists including some leading feature film people such as, 'Destroy All Monsters', responsible for Skyfall. It's exciting to be be giving something artistic back, we just have to get it there!

This year i'll be bringing a set of very special, exclusive tracks out to the desert, drawn up from all the leading producers, Dj's and Parties in London and Europe since last Burn. If anyone want to hear them in their camp please feel free to get in touch. I'm there to have some simple fun in awe of what i'm sure will be amazing but i am quite prepared to squeeze a couple of sets in along the way.

Until then, i hope all your plans are coming together nicely and that the year is rolling sweetly along for you.

Look forward to joining you there.

Dan. x

Because they're a dime a dozen.
Because they all have tasty beats that we NEED to hear. (we don't)
Because they all want places to play and oh, by the way, do you have all the equipment I need?
Because they all think they're "the next big thing"
Because they prattle on about their "craft"
Because they sound mostly like self absorbed asswipes
Because they think that just because they do this, that we should be in awe.
Oh. And just because.

Welcome aboard, Dan. You'll find the typical hype-filled DJ/promoter name-droppage doesn't really have the same effect here as it does elsewhere on the internet, but once you get past that you'll do just fine. Good luck with the projects!

Everyone's a DJ. You can't swing a dead possum around without hitting at least 6 of them.

Good, 'cause staying home after only a 2.9 on the ePlaya snark scale would be sad.
