well thats all well and good, but if my friends left a star trek like vehicle in MY yard you would bet your ass that it would be assumed that i would be taking it to pick up my dry cleaning.

at least once or twice.

i'd be real careful.

Oh man, I have the pin on chest devices which beep and boop, and I also has STOS communicators which "talk".

I found the program from my brother's his school play... he was listed as "Spock Castle". 1967. So I come by it honestly. No, Bill is not my Time Traveling Alternate Universe Space Dad.

That's so awesome, Yggy! Back when I lived in LA and was at my art collective's warehouse space, it was a wonderful thing seeing our MV parked out back. Even in storage mode, it was a thing of beauty.

Trilo if I can refer way back to what you said Friday about being at a "Burner" event with no Burners at it

that's what drives me nuts about the DC "Burner" scene: too many poseurs who have no intention of ever doing that much work.

But I had a nice chat with a random guy on the street on Friday; he asked me for a cigarette while I was waiting to cross, saw the logo on my Pier hoodie and was all suddenly "Burning Man? Burning Man!! I wanna do that!!!"

Yeah, it was a little weird, MDF. I tried going back on Saturday to check out the art, but didn't have much time or patience. Dont get me wrong, I don't mind talking Burning Man with those who are interested or curious, but I felt a bit like some kind of roadside attraction. And the couple interactions I had seemed clear that the people I was talking to really weren't interested. They were just there to support their friend who was "DJing" (99% of DJing in SL is just someone serving up a playlist in their MP3 app, no real mixing or beatmatching). I was going to try again this afternoon after finishing some work up, but our internet connection went down and I didn't want to blow through my mobile data allowance by screwing around in-world.

Sorry to hear about the continued snowishness and coldishness to those experiencing them. Pics like that just serve to remind me how glad I am to have moved away from those climates.

This year seems chock full of life upheavals for people. A couple of our campmates are smack dab in the middle of moving from the Bronx to San Diego, and another is busily plotting her return from NYC to SF. Some local friends just finished a big move (from apartment to house) and they're both now doing job changes, and one of our new campmates just told us he's going to be moving in the next few weeks. That one's got to be a killer for him, he's got a terrific soace and awesome view and killer workshop, and he's been living there for longer than we were at our old place.

HI MDF!!! dang, still snowing! we seem full on spring already, my tulips will be blooming any day, Lilacs are budding (seems several of the new ones are putting out leaves, or leaf buds anyway) and the cherry trees are in full bloom.

and allergies....I've had a cough for 3 weeks. but,the fexofenadine you suggest, seems to be keeping my sinus pretty much in check. So, yay that.

Using a saline rinse can help with allergies, wash the pollen outta there. I don't use a spray, I have a special squirt bottle. Neti pots work too, but I feel like I'm drowning. Ugh.

yeah, I try the squirt bottles at times, too. Not sure if it helps, maybe some.
I put it mostly on the tender and delicate being that is me.

Ive got a nettie pot too. I tried it the other day and thought my eye was gonna explode from the pressure!

I take antihistamines daily but the real problem is my sinus' stay swelled up is what the doc said. So I have a spray stuff which has been helping some.

We are finally getting into daytime highs again that is melting off the snow here nicely.....finally!

I've used the nasal spray before and it works ok but after using it for awhile my nose will bleed a little. I told the PA that and she said to not use it for a few days then start again.
You should check the price it would be because I think its only around ten$ or so w/o ins if you can get a script for it.
Oh, and the PA suggested using claritin daily for the allergy part, which you can get generic.

yeah, claritin (loratadine) doesn't work for me any more. switching to the fexofenadine (allegra) worked much better.

Thanks MDF, in our case we wound up in a much better and more awesome new place. That's been the case with everyone else too, so I'm hopeful that will be how it works out for our new campmate, and then we can get back to the business of building goofy stuff for camp. Which reminds me, I need to get the questionnaire sorted out this week.

I don't like the format of the questionnaire, too easy to miss some of the questions if you scroll past the parts telling them, no you have no flame effects. I had to email my layout, never did see a way to attach it. My laptop is scewy, might be the problem. But it is sorted out now. I hope!

Ohh, I totally forgot about my neti pot. I should be using that. Using it just once in a blue moon isn't a good strategy.

. . . Yeah, they take some getting used to. I'm so used to getting water up my nose that I think I'm just . . . very cavalier at this point.

Ygmir, if you make sure the fine salt is really well swished before you begin, and the water is warm but not hot (and stop once or twice) it's easier.

So, I got the sawmill engine running finally, and have now ordered some parts, in preparation for sawing my first log!!!
Looney tune took down a big pine, so we'll try that.......anyone need pine planks? I can cut up to 24x16", 28' long.
