Bought 220 worth of uv silver tarps today. I'm going to feel like a left over. Going to build the bar on sat or Sunday with Tom.

i love payday!
today i picked up two HUGE camo nets and a couple of mesh backpacks. i have 2 of those utility type belts, but thought a backpack might be nice too (guh, one is pink...but it's all they had). also going to hit the army surplus store and do another thrift store round this weekend to see what goodies i can find.
i have a huge mountain of stuff piled in my living room for BM!

Lol you sound like me last year on my first year.
you might want to rethink the backpack I wore mine the first three days, after that a spot on my shoulder blade was rubbed raw, I have read this from other people to. So cover them with something über soft or wear the waist packs. I'm options 100% out of backpacks/camels this year and built a new waist pack.
Oh yeah pump came in today. Swamp cooler is complete and will start it up when I get home today

Re: One Item for BM a Day
This is true. Backpacks are great for bike-riding, but the straps will rub you raw if you wear it directly on dusty skin for several days, especially if the straps are canvas. So I moisturize the skin under there daily, and often have a barrier between me and the straps--vest, or full shirt.
I wear a messenger bag at night, when I'm less likely to ride.
I carry too much stuff to make a waist belt practical for most things, but it's perfect for my camera. I like to be able to quick-draw.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Those dorky looking bike baskets get the backpack off you sweaty shoulders.. Also the heavy hydro pack go nice handing from the handle bars..
Re: One Item for BM a Day
i will def cover the straps with a soft fabric. i figured 2 belts, a regular mesh backpack, and one of those one shoulder triangle mesh backpacks would be enough so that i can rotate to avoid rawstrapskin.

Why 2 belts? Plus a backpack and another bacpack? IMHO your over killing it. Bring one of each if you have to have both. Ideal would be a camelback and a waist belt. But like I said after day 3. Was over the back pack and used the waist belt. Not even bringing the camel thus year I don't think. One thing in the playa

Re: One Item for BM a Day
thks, a 1972 3/4 ton Ford camper special , has a rebuilt 360 and is pretty straight . All the electric works and has had everything just gone over, new brakes and tires etc. Im 4th owner and it has low miles , been sitting in a barn for awhile. All the hoses have also been replaced. Going to have the transmission gone over and look for camper to buy.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
sounds great! have fun shopping for that camper
i had considered going the camper route but my needs are a bit more immediate so i opted for a regular enclosed trailer. i'm moving west and need it for furniture.
good thing is i'll be able to use it for the burn too! with some helpful advice from Figjam it's going to be pretty sweet

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I didn't have the problem with the backpack straps except a littttle bit the last couple days. The problem that I ran into was thigh chafing on my bicycle seat. It's white leather, and I wore a lot of very small bottoms so my thighs would rub against the leather and by the end of the week OUCH!!!! So I'm going to cover my bike seat this year with.....something....does anyone have a recommendation for a material that will not lead to chafing by the end of the week? I was thinking faux fur, but is that soft enough? I'm not very experienced with sewing/fabric so I'm having trouble deciding.....

Just running off my laptop. Sample code. But I'm pleased. One led has it's blue light out, but fixable. Time to pull the whole thing apart, fix it and glue it together.
