yep , previous owner said about 13mpg so when its loaded it will hopefully be 10mpg

Picked up some little glass vials and lanyards yesterday. Thought I could put some Playa dust in them as little momento's. I'm not sure if anyone would want one but as a birgin last year, I would have loved it.

Barely. Once I get the fit adjusted right an pull out the dark welding shield, I should be good. Even with them fully lit, I can still see, the lights don't blind because of the way the mask is shaped.

I need to work on my neck muscles to hold it up though.

People will love them. I've done little bottles filled with man ash, and painted the glass with little men. Way too much work. I did tiny vials with salt for the Utah burn.

finally finished inside the trunk. still need to add a couple of handles to make opening it easier

They will indeed! I have a similar necklace with 2003 playa dust in it and it's one of the best swag pieces I ever got. It's got an even smaller jar strung on strong black thread with translucent beads tied on it here and there. It's delicate enough that I occasionally wear it to the office.

What I like about TT120's version is that a few additional things could be clipped to the clips and loops next to the jar. One sometimes has additional swag, or small lights with no lanyard. Then along comes some swag with a lanyard and suddenly you can wear everything you own.

Well figured I might as well post my progress to. I under estimated the amount of paint I needed. Need wayyyyyy more black. This was just 16oz of it. But got a good start. Need to change the red. I don't like the color.

That trunk is outstanding. Did you use ModPodge? Try sparkle mod podge, it is insane and doesn't MOOP. You have to use separate applicators though, they're never the same, even when washed.

ModPodge is the greatest thing since sliced bread! i'm looking at all my old stuff in a whole new light

have you used fabric to decoupage? does the modpodge soak through the fabric? do you do a top coat over the fabric?

Make sure you glue those corks firmly to the glass, and consider wiring the bottle's rim to the necklace attachment as well -- or those cute mementos may become hazardous glass MOOP on the playa.

Yup. Way ahead of you. The corks and eye hooks the lanyards clip to are "wired" to the jar. Similliar to how it's done on a Champagne bottle.

I've been so inspired by these daily preparation updates... I love this thread. Today, we bought our tent for burning man and it is huge and awesome! Thank you so very much to IllyDilly who suggested this tent in my introduction thread months ago. I did a ton of research, decided it was the best bang for my buck and then waited for a sale We just set it up in the driveway and I already feel like it's our home away from home, as a backpacker, I'm not used to this kind of luxury... being able to do a jumping jack in a tent?!?!? awesome.
