........World famous Shakey Cam In Action.......

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Sun Sep 19, 2004 8:18 am

Yeah, it was shot with a really cheap digital camera with no tripod. I was just shooting for me without any intention on sharing it or I would have shot it better or at lest set it on sticks. Half the time when you see it vere off to the sides I am hugging someone, and as you can see there was a lot of hugging going on. Antie-M is the woman sitting down in the chair in the beginning with Rob the Wop behind her. Thanks M for the beads they are now permenant part of my loincloth....

Anybody else see themselves, point yourself out so we'll know who you are.

thankfully,

Thanks for the pics Reba! Although they kinda make me homesick...

I recognized a few of the "someone else"-s in the pics too.

Pic 3: Someone else = FatSam
Pic 4: Someone else = yours truly
Pic 12: Someone else = missus FatSam (I can't remember her name, although we talked for a long time)
Pic 18: That's Karma in the center

Rebbi,
Thank you for the film! I had completely forgotten that you made it. It was great hanging out with you at the Meet n' Greet. I also thoroughly enjoyed sharing a cold Guinness and excellent conversation with you at the G-Spot as well. You, sir, are a prince among men. I hope to see you again next year.

Dude! You totally are from Furbackistan!

Did you make it to the LBD (little black dress) parade in your stunning little number?

i think it would be fun to try and sketch/photoshop/paint/sculpt each other via our eplaya discussions and self descriptions, then try to find one another via the accuracy of our renditions of each other at the meet and greet.

applications

Post by calsur » Tue Oct 12, 2004 10:25 pm

Sometime after the first of next year I will be taking applications for Buccaneers to help out on a project I have planned. The project will take place on the Playa during the 2005 Burn.

The successful candidate will be able to sing all the choruses of “16 Men”, wait, I looked it up and it is 15 men, (http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Trail ... ong42.html). Way to involved. Strike that.

The successful candidate will be able to run a blender and turn out margaritas. Supplies will be provided by the previous owner. Any previous experience running Playa Cruisers will be given extra consideration.

This is a Public Service Notice so you all can get your resumes in order for the casting call.

Captain Goddammette,

Inside people get 10 brownie points.

Zulegoona,

The Captian approached me at the Meet and Greet and said we should stir things up a bit or words to that effect. Sorry I can not provide an exact quote but I was on my third Fosters oil can.

So I am just attempting to follow the Captians wishes.

This thead had died out by the time I got back from my road trip and I just saw it today. The following started out as a PM to Dr. Pyro but I changed my mind. The Dr wrote:
The only downer was after the party on our artcar and Silver decided to be judge, jury, and executioner and threatened to beat the living bejesus out of one of our campmates over a comparitively minor misunderstanding.
My response:

I was still on my road trip when the meet and greet tread died and just saw it today. I believe you owe me an apology. A dude hauls off and hits a woman, out of the blue and for no apparent reason, and that is a "comparitively minor misunderstanding", bullshit. I was standing right there and without warning, raised voice or threatening action on her part he hit her and to you this is no big deal? I did not get loud or even theatening about it until the asshole would not go away; should I have stood there and let him hit her again? Not in my lifetime. This fellow might be a friend of yours but he is still a worthless son of a bitch. By the way, you can tell the little shit that he lucky I was fucked up that night; if I had been unaltered I would have dropped him where he stood, I avoid getting physical when altered since I know that my controls are down. Not unreasonable anger, just pure outrage, my reaction would have been the same if I had been speaking to you and the slimeball had decided to suckerpunch you.

This is a no-win situation, but here goes. Silver has the facts pretty much correct. But to say that he [and I am paraphrasing] hauled off and sucker punched a woman is a bit much. Yes, a slap to the side of the head did indeed occur, and Renee was startled by the action. I am in no way condoning the action. However, as Silver mentioned, he was fucked up and, in my opinion which does not make me correct, saw it as a much more violent incident than either Renee, myself, Lee (Renee's husband), and the rest of the crew. Jon was most contrite, apologized over and over, Renee not only accepted his apology and saw it as a comparitively minor misunderstand. Don't misread me, hitting a woman or anyone else for that matter, should not and cannot be tolerated. However, to go postal and threaten somebody, and to abandon someone a mile or two from their camp without water in the desert, you will excuse me that I believe some kind of compromise or middle ground could be found. No Silver, I do not owe you an apology. I respect you and should the rolls have been reversed, aided you in any way I could. You were a guest and as such should have respected our wishes. I appreciate your concern and had things escalated any further may now even be in complete agreeement, but that did not occur and was not going to occur. Like I started this with, this is a no-win situation for me. Happily, I was not involved with the confrontation and my peaceful demeanor would never have allowed such a thing to happen. If anyone else has a different take on this, I would be happy to entertain your thoughts.

Doc

Met and Greeted

I was greeted by Pets at the L.A. decom. As I walked over to mind the store I heard some woman shout STUART behind me (it pays to have a recognizable avatar sometimes). She cheerfully shared her Jack and Coke with me in the rain. Our encounter was brief and I was drunk and busy but I still found her to be exceedingly swell.
