Depeche Mode.
Somehow we always camp near Country Camp and hear country tunes. Do I enjoy country tunes? Not particularly, however I appreciate the originality.

This is what you face if you ask for musical recommendations from me:Finntroll, Klezmatics, Danial Kahn and the Painted Bird, Red Army Chorus, Brave Combo, Polkestra (I cannot over emphasize Polkestra), Amanda Palmer/Dresden Dolls, Gilbert and Sullivan, the Damned, maybe the Stranglers, Brave Old World, Leningrad Cowboys, the Comedian Harmonists, Big Lou's Polka Casserole, Max Raabe and the Palast Orchestra, Club Foot Orchestra, Slade, Suzi Quatro, T. Rex, Limpopo/Raving Polka (also Red Elvises, but I don't like them in that form as much), the Tubes, Nina Hagen, the Pogues, Meshugga Beach Party, Rammstein, Carmina Burana, Hank Williams, Shostakovich's Nose, Spinal Tap, the Rutles. Throw in some Cajunto, and a few random compliation albums. Camper van Beethoven, caberet, threepenny opera, zydeco, Wall of Voodoo, DEVO, and sound effects to taste. Random play to your heart's delight.
Depending on the day, of course.
It's easy to listen to a mix like that. Just tune into Orphan/Endorphin Camp Radio whether on 105.9 on the eplaya or on our podcast here at home.

Soundtrack to Phantom of the Paradise. But I'm the only one who seems to love it.

You are not alone.
I just caught one of the Juicy Fruits in a movie I was watching earlier this week.

I like to hear anything but dubstep.
When I ride my Loud Bike http://www.cathodecorner.com/loudbike/index.html,
I find that the lounge music is appreciated, as is the ~2004 trance, as is the Seeburg elevator music http://www.nixiebunny.com/seeburg/.

If I heard country at BM I'd probably sneak the speakers away and add them to a CORE project on Thursday before it gets burned. And not just country. Pop too. Unless it's old school country back when it was really country and not just pop with a country accent.
Personally, I like vocal trance. Very melodic. And puts me in a peaceful trance, with or without anything additional
Please forgive me...this cubicle has stolen portions of my mind and my soul

The Bonzos alone are 3 or 4 bands all by themselves.
I do like a spirited rendition of Ali Baba's Camel now and then...

Re: What do you like to hear on the Playa?
Im all about house music. Tech, deep, tribal, all of it. Cant get enough on playa.
In 06 I stumbled on a bluegrass band out at the trash fence. Sat there for an hour and listened.
Point is, what sounds good to me in my living room may or may not sound good to me on playa. Or at any given moment.
Play what you want. Some will like it. Some wont. Who cares.

EBM, IDM, Darkwave, Futurepop, other type of music you see people in black stomp to. Or noise.
I have a little bit of Savannah with me. Shhh...

Re: What do you like to hear on the Playa?
There was a group of ladies at BM related events in the last years of the previous century that had a singing group. They wore blue wigs and sang in real close Balkan-style harmony. I'll bet nobody knows what I am talking about, even myself.
