Barbie Death Camp Fundraiser

Post by Drawingablank » Mon Apr 22, 2013 4:15 pm

The sole Barbie Death Camp fund raiser is our annual tee shirt sale, which not only gets you an awesome tee shirt, but all proceeds are used to purchase the massive amount of wine used to stock our bar.

Available in tees or tanks, men's or women's, pink or gray, and sizes Small through XXL.

Note: photo shows the design but it is not available on a white shirt.

Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

I want one. The one being worn by your model in the ad seems a tad snug. Maybe I better go with a XXL.

Its rare to find a camp with its act together enough to design and then follow through and actually order custom printed shirts.

Is the image printed on the front or the back of the shirt? Maybe that nice girl is wearing the shirt backwards?

The image will be on the back (in her case, unfortunately) with the usual nominclature, including your playa name if requested at no additional charge, on the front. And Zeke, we've pretty much had out act together for years. Or whatever the hell it is we do around BDC&WB.

DrawingaBlank, you did a wonderful job with the new website!!! Looks great!

We'll be buying a couple shirts for sure. I wear my BDV T-shirt at least once a week.

Well actually I just did some editing, the site has looked like that for years.

I too wear my BDC tees a lot as they are my favorites. Aside from looking great, they are super soft and comfy and hold up really well. If I wasn't so broke I'd get one for each day of the week.

Thanks for the info Doc. By the way, I have changed my name from Zeke to Corn. You can just call me Corn Man. Back in the old western days, they developed metal spurs to attach to boots to gain traction when roping cattle and other such tasks. Since those days of old, people have developed a whole new, much more effective way to dig their heels firmly in the ground: agreeing on the design of t-shirts and getting the damned things printed out. I think a BDC t-shirt would be very fashionable attire to wear to the Sac Valley Burners meetup on the first Thursday of next month.

Hahaha! Then apparently I've never looked at the BDV website before.

RIGHT!
I was kinda surprised at how sturdy the T shirts are. I sort of expected thinner, loosely stitched and overly stretchy "concert T" type t-shirts. Though, I've come to learn and expect only the best from Barbie Death Village.

This does add a layer of bureaucracy that we haven't had in the past, in the sense that people who aren't Barbiebarians will be buying shirts and hats (which is wonderful) and will expect them to be either delivered on playa or at the pre-party at my house in August. Clearly all shirts will need to be picked up at BDC&WB, so if anyone would like to assist Frank in that task it would certainly be appreicated. Have someone (Frank) handing out shirts to folks in the Village, and have someone else be responsible for those who order them but reside elsewhere. Clearly it would be easiest if everyone not affiliated with BDV simply picked them up at the ePlaya Meet & Greet, but after the absinthe is passed things have a tendancy of becoming "misplaced". We have four months to figure it out, but if anyone has a simple solution to this conundrum I would certainly like to hear it.

Suggestion - each order popped in a sep bag, then put in a box. Box put under Felony's van - person doling out wine hands out the shirt orders. Yes there are risks, but it seems like the easiest way?

Lets face it:

Anyone can acquire basic metallurgy skills.
Make custom molds.
Gather a load of brass or bronze.
Heat it to insanely high temperatures.
Pour it into the custom made molds.
Clean up the casting flash.
Learn enameling skills.
Painstakingly apply the cloisonne process.
And have one of those.

Still awesome though.

Hey Doc, anyway to have hoodies made?
The same as the tee shirts, black fabric, white print, playa name on front, non-zipper.
