* trots War Rabbit up to hitchin post, loops reins over and heads up boardwalk, noting freshly dusted entrance to bar.......doors swinging in the breeze, which is only blowing through bar. Saunters in, hanging war ax on "war ax hook", sword on "sword hook" and takes cod out of pocket and hangs it, too.*
ah, though deserted, the place does look nice, *noting very tiny foot prints in fireplace ash, around what looks to be a tiny Maypole*
Hmm...........could it be? Have they come back for a visit? *memory swings back to the years of the creation and controversy of "bar vs bar2" wars.*
What's that, chiseled into the corner stone? *looks closely* "OMWs"...................
smiles, thinking of wonderful times past, and the characters involved, really missing Da Mule.
*sets bowl of cheeze doodles on bar, saucer of milk in the rafters, a cigar on the back booth table, fluffs doggie pillow in corner, and strokes TV, on the way to the ROS*

Morning, Lucky and YG. Beautiful entrance, YG. You're a poet and don't know it, but your feet show it, the're Longfellows. Don't be lonely, Big Guy, you have a universe of friends!
Off to hit some yellow balls this morning and then the big family gathering and BBQ to celebrate everyone's birthday for the year. Hot dogs (Hebrew National of course), sausages, hamburgers, kabobs and veggie delights. Love having all my kids around at one time! Gotta get moving. Still digesting that wonderful, bacon decorated cake that Misa made. Sharing it with my family this afternoon.
Have a great one, kiddies

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Busy day, rough day. Where we previously thought that with some basic meds our older cat's condition would be manageable and he'd live a happy and relatively normal life, it's now apparently a situation where he'll be on some fairly intense meds and the time we'll get to spend with him will be cut short. My worry now is that the course of meds may make him miserable. We'll start him on that course sometime next week, and then watch closely. Poor guy's got to go back in for more bloodwork in a couple weeks.
On the creative front, we also hit up a couple different lumber yards to check out what they've got and price out options for what wood to use on playa projects. I saw some great thin woods to possibly use with future projects on the laser cutter, and then saw a really wide range of super-premium woods that would be fun to work with but are way the fuck out of the budget for anything I'm making this year. Overall, the cost of lumber has really shot up in the last couple years. And with me needing more than 30 sheets of plywood for the pieces I've designed so far, damn that's gonna be spendy. I need to hit a couple more places tomorrow morning, and then once I decide what direction I want to go I'll need to pick up 5 sheets for my shopbot sessions this week. Three cheers for having a lovely arty freak of a girlfriend, instead of grousing about my crazy and expensive plan she's encouraging me to go with better stuff and right there with me wishing we could afford to go full-on deluxe. She rocks.
Outside of that, we tinkered around with domestic stuff in the loft. We love the place so far, but wanted to move some furniture around and find a more comfortable arrangement for the workbench, a couple rolling racks and a work table. If it's even possible it feels like we have a larger, more open space. The cats seem to approve, always a good sign.

dang, missed GH!! I do hope you made a nuisance of yourself somewhere, to someone, today!!
So sorry about the kitty, Trilo. dang it all.........well, you'll be presented with your options, and make a good decision, this, I'm sure of.
and yay on the wood shopping and having a supportive S.O.!!
I"m just back from a quick trip up to the Hof, to clean it out inside in preparation for Hofstove installation.
I'm thinking, if I take all the random granite for the floor up (1.5" thick nominal, random pieces) I might even beg some help, and fun, during the hofparty from the folks there, each setting a piece or two of the puzzled in........Sure was nice up there, just a few hints of snow on the highest peaks now.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Sad to hear about your cat, Trilo. Ours got scratched by a raccoon (we think) and has lost some fur on the site on his right fore shoulder. Hasn't seemed to bother him too much and seems to be healing. They have 9 lives you know.
YG, you have one volunteer ME for shlepping granite at the Hof. Will be fun being a very small part of that huge and extraordinary project.
Fun having the family here today. I have two tiers of grand kids. Four guys ages 20 - 25 and two girls and two boys ages 2 - 7. We had the little ones here today. Wore me out! Food was good and plentiful and everyone had a good time. I posted all the birth dates on the wall and that was a hit.
Tomorrow, I must glaze and fire some pottery.
Now to bed

Glad you had a great time!! you have a wonderful family, and as the "anchor", we all know why.
yeah, the floor idea, was that with the help (read energy/spirit/love) of many friends, the building could truly come "alive"........the amount not being important, but the "intent".

Use it as a wake-up call and super-extra enjoy your time together Trilo.
I got one of those a couple of months ago when my older cat had a seizure. I sat with him on my lap thinking it was a repeat scene of the cat I lost about ten years ago but in stead of drawing his final breaths, he got up and walked off to get something to eat.
He passed away a few days ago but we made the most of the last couple of months. On a selfish note, I'm really glad he was still around when I got back after my mom died a few weeks ago.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Thanks for the kind words (and sorry for your lost, 171/348). I don't really feel like we're in need of a wake-up call in order to appreciate our furry friends - they're pretty awesome even on their worst days and we try to do what we can to make sure they have a good life on an ongoing basis. We've been through the process before, when our older cat was the junior and his predecessor got sick, we did a little bucket list for him. Tuna, lobster bisque, favorite treats, new silk pillows for his favorite nap spots, and other indulgences. We'll do the same with this one, he likes being spoiled and 'helping out' on projects.
It's already been a busy day for me. I was up early, hit a couple more suppliers and locked down the polycoat, the lumber, and some of the paint I'll be using as well as picked up some other miscellaneous stuff, and then stopped at the Krispy Kreme on the way home to get a dozen coming right off the conveyor. Coming down from my sugar high shortly, might be time for a nap before jumping into some other projects and tinkering in a little while. I hope everyone else is having a wonderful and productive weekend.

Funny how they make things easier...
Although mine is a stuffed animal. That's what we called them in my youth, anyway. Now "plush" is the term.
What-rucking-ever.
And my typos are getting weirder all the time...
