You know what I miss?
...I miss that feeling of looking out at a fairly empty playa with a few groups spread out, the Identifiable land marks and projects taking shape. And slowly hour by hour the city building it's self up out of the dust. that's what I miss, so perhaps by sharing what we miss we can remember to remember collectivity.

I miss being there waiting for friends to arrive and screaming and hugging when they do.

i miss the serenity of the mornings
at time, as the sun begins to draw long shadows across the playa, the air has cleared. everything is calm.
occasional spent revelers wander toward camp. others rise to greet the possibilities of the new day
everything seems fresh and wonderful

I miss day 2. Day 1 I am crazed and thinking that I should not be here at all. By day 2, I am so relaxed and at home---and LOVE the people.

I miss making coffee in the mornings and serving it to passers-by.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Re: You know what I miss?
I'm giving this a nudge to Experiences At Burning Man, since that's a better fit.
I miss Uchronia (the waffle) and the Temple Of Stars. Last year's temple was pretty cool, but just served to remind me how big and ornate and amazing that thing was. I appreciated it quite a bit at the time, but in the years since it feels like I took it for granted.

Cat was super wonderful. I hope she's finishing off her thesis now, so it's not an issue for next year. Cause I miss her, too.knowmad wrote:no! NO! NO!unjonharley wrote:I don't miss it but I am feeling the (lone) of watching the city disappear as I read

I miss the feel of picking hunks of concrete out of my nose when I think no one is looking. Arriving early in the morning to a freshly cleaned and cool potty. Parking my ass in the shade and just doing nothing.
