While this seems to be the consensus, if it's your first time, I wouldn't recommend counting on a reduced appetite. Maybe it's because my camp duties include daily
slave physical labor but last year I brought
more food than I thought I'd need and was running low the last day, despite being provided delicious camp dinners. I certainly didn't go hungry, but a big, day-long dust storm delaying my return to Reno could potentially have changed that.
I learned that I need to plan more carefully to be self-reliant for food for my entire time in Black Rock City, plus a few extra emergency granola bars and snacks to share.
