happy Birthdays!!! I added some decorations, and a dusted Bollee trike, and the coffee's hot, and the peeps are baconed, root beer on tap.

Loading an ebay ipod, and playing with the radio transmitter. Proportionately the time I spend on fixing music to listening to it on playa is near 50 to one. mini-ddp in the offing perhaps. I made a list of my proposed projects, and it's DOING time now, no longer full time imagining. I'm thinking of a wheeled hof-barrow to get my gear up the hill, although I know ygmir does shuttle service at the beep of a horn. Such a host! Bringing the little boom kit for audio, west (if the hof coast view is north?) of the fire pit is a big dance area perhaps?

Happy birthdays!

I was up early trying to get clearcoat on a few more pieces before running out the door to a meeting. Got some done, but not as much as I'd like. Now I'm zooming down the embarcadero on this sunny Saturday morning on the Muni, typing this as I pass by some cool construction projects connected with the America's Cup races on the waterfront. The meeting should be fun, then it's another trip to the vet for the cat and finally back to working on art. Need more caffeine!

I got the best shuttle service last year up that road, after trying (unsuccessfully three times) to get my little Versa up there in the mud...

The scoop of the backhoe was just the right size for me and all my camping gear!

Yes, like any ship, it needs to move a minimum speed in order to “answer the helm”.

hooray i made it!

from chicago to cleveland

a place that is so burning-man that even its rivers burn

temporarily in a hotel until a perm place is found.. had a yummie dinner, been chillin, makin things more comfortable

at least they have a desk that fits my scaled down computer setup.. laptop with extra monitor, (zomg i couldnt spend maybe 2 weeks with just one screen ;-P ) (my 'real' keyboard.. an IBM model M was a bit too big to fit in a suitcase, im REALLY toughin it here, guys.. this logitech is such crap!)

anyways, hooray.

while theres still some shit ahead, the most stressful part is over.

I know how you feel, one of my monitors burnt out a few months ago so I decided I would just use the one and save money but couldn't last a week, You don't realize how much you use the extras till you don't have them.

Overcast this morning, but due to clear and be a warm one. Will finish glazing some pots today and will do a firing tonight. But first tennis and gotta watch the Warriors and Spurs game at noon. Go Warriors! Yeah and clean off the top of my desk for sure.

Ah... I neglected to reply to this. The green tricycle floats on the tires. That is, on the air in the tires. I mean, just look at those giant rubber pontoons! One cubic foot of air supports 60 pounds of weight. (One cubic foot of water weighs 60 pounds.)

I've been known to apply this concept to extreme. Below you see four of us on a somewhat unfinished vehicle, and we are close to going down by the stern. (But we didn't.)

Two (or more) monitor setups depend primarily on your graphics card within the machine, and whether it is up to the task. More and more these days, they are. If the card is able, then a cable connection, and a dialogue set up window or two, and you're in business. It is really nice to have the additional screen real estate to work with. It has been a while since I set mine up, and I tend to leave it be once it is the way I like it, but I'll look mine over again if any of you want a run through. I'm sure there are others here who are more computer savvy than I, but it isn't all that difficult usually.

A nice option is a laptop with a permanent docking station of sorts. You have two monitors, keyboard and mouse at home (the permanent monitor is usually nicer than the laptop screen), but you can disengage the laptop at will and take it with you.

Or a 'serious' desktop workstation with multiple monitors in a more permanent arrangement can boost productivity, especially with software that uses a number of windows open at once.
