Your truck will need to be set up to carry a camper. There are generally four eye bolts, one under each corner, on a camper. You will need attachment points on your truck, and big turn-buckles to cinch it down. They make nice chrome ones for the task, or you can just get hardware store turnbuckles. But get BIG ones. Depending on where your attachment points are, you can link two turnbuckles end-to-end ur use some chain to reach.tatonka wrote:tie down brkts? campers dont come with these? The simplest ones are little brackets that screw into the front wall of your truck bed, sticking out of the seam between the cab and bed that the front tie-downs grab onto, and similar little brackets that bolt to the outer edges of your rear bumper. I don't like those bumper brackets because the rear tie-downs end up slanted toward the rear, and I like mine either straight down or going forward a bit to keep the camper from sliding backwards in the truck bed when you leave an uphill stoplight (it's happened!)
They make "belly bars", metal square-tube that bolts to your frame and sticks out on each side. That's a really good way to go. And there are others. If you're really lucky, maybe the seller will have that stuff and throw it in the deal - but usually that's all on you.
