Hey hello, I just had 3 glasses of free booze at a medical conference ... 8)

But, sadly, got a call from Moonrise this afternoon, he is not happy at the hospital, in fact he's kinda paranoid right now, Lucky I know you have been by there already but a friendly face might really help him right now. I feel so bad being so far away and not able to really help him; I advised him to speak to the nursing supervisor, the hospital administrator, the discharge planner and Renown's risk management office. :| Gosh. He was quite upset today.

And, y'all who know my son Archimedes know how dear he is to me, and how funny... anyway I snuck out of my conference today to go with him to the retinal specialist again and his eyes are getting worse! But the good doctor wants to wait a bit before he lasers the back of Archie's eyeballs... sheesh. You can see why those free drinks were quite welcome this evening!

*raises a glass*

No more bad news!!!

Dang MDF.... yay for a few free drinks when you need them. I hope Moon finds a kind ear in his moments of need. Good thoughts going out to Archimedes as well. Shut down the news input, and turn up the cartoons.

Sorry to hear about your son, MDF. (((((MDF))))) It will be ok. You have some really fine medical institutions in your area and for sure, you know how the navigate your way through the system, which is far more resources than most folks have. He is lucky to have you for his mom!

Thinking good thoughts for Moon!

MDF, a night's sleep can work wonders! Glad you're feeling better! Lucky, say hi to Moon from me and the rest of us. We have one grandson graduating high school on Thursday and another from UCLA on a week from tomorrow. Happy events in life's voyage for these youngsters. Congrtats to Samantha, YG!

Saw a great production of Sondheim's "Into the Woods" at the Eureka theater in SF last night and it was really first rate! 5 stars!

Hey, kiddies, it's Friday!!! Dives into the NEB for some zzzzzzzzzs and cuddles!

Warm greetings to all this a.m.

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: <next round's on me.

I'm sitting here halfway awake at my desk, happily confuzzled by the events of the previous twenty-four hours.

Nobody at work ever says anything on my birthday, but yesterday (my 53rd, but who's counting?) I got a CARD from all of the office. It really felt good to be appreciated on this new level. And I've only been at this job the last 21 years.

Everybody called me from BRC that I've stayed in touch with, wishing me the best.I was answering the phone all day long.

My SISTER even called.

Who threw the planets into the correct alignment for this wonderful surprse to occur? It must have been someone in thiis thread. Thanks, whoever you are. I'm strongly suspecting Yggy, but anything is possible.

Happy Friday, and happy belated bday, Rhino! And woohoos and kudos and all that to those with graduations - sure the kids did the work but the family helped them get there! Hopefully Moon getting feisty and paranoid is a good sign, that his strength is up and he's getting back to his old self and wanting to get the fuck out of there.

I saw Spark again last night, it was playing at the Roxie in the Mission as part of DocFest. Pandorra hadn't yet seen it, and I enjoyed it enough to want to see it a second time, and wanted to show the filmmakers some support. Of course, ran into a bunch of friends and a few campmates, and saw many more familiar faces - all in all, a great night. The film's not perfect, but it's damned good. For those down in LA they're screening it Monday as part of a fundraiser for the temple, and the director said they plan to take it around the country to screen it in as many theaters as they can - so people can take their friends and enjoy the shared experience of the cinema. Then sometime around August or September they hope to have things lined up to be able to release it on video.

I'm pretty sore today after another long day in the workshop and then lots of walking around town. Aside from running to the lumber yard to pick up the rest of the wood I'll need today shouldn't be too physically demanding.

I hope everybody else's Friday has been rocking. I've been making good progress on my camp's site update/overhaul, as well as got a bunch of pics posted to our Tumblr (and an update on our progress in the theme camp thread). I also managed to make it over to the lumber yard and get the last 20 sheets of plywood I'll need for the project. It'll take a few weeks to get all that cut, but gives me great piece of mind to know we have it in hand (it was a special buy price, and when the yard runs out of that the next best wood for the job is not as good and nearly double the price). Once that got loaded I made my way to the local giganto-warehouse-retail operation to pick up a couple other supplies.

And then got the awesome news that my friend (and longtime burner) Tipper has been moved out of the ICU (after open heart surgery the other day) and is expected to make a complete recovery. Woohoo, drinks all round!

and (((MDF))) I love you!

and Yggy, working against all odds and succeeding!

and YAY It's FRIDAY, dammit!!

Yay for your friend, Trilo!! we can all take joy in the good fortune of others.

here's hoping Moon is making progress.

and here's to Archie for all the best.

Good Morning. Stay cool AntiM. Ygmir, have a wonderful day at graduation, bring some water, and kleenex. Breathe. Burst with pride. If you are standing, don't lock your knees. Are you going to wear your tophat and tails (no booty shorts though... or yes.)? I'd imagine they'd allow parasols and umbrellas at least until the ceremony starts... hope those g-parents are well prepared.
I'm going to a few local goodwills and salvation armies today: I need some plastic fish bowls, and lawn mower wheels. I also need a small innertube, like the size of a trailer wheel. Do tire shops get rid of old inner tubes that might be patchable, but not going to be used? New ones are kind of pricey.
Here's my favorite morning coffee destination.

Wow, wish I was drinking coffee at that spot! 8) Thanks for sharing.

SaturdaySaturdaySaturday, woo hoo!!! I have day three of this 3-day medical conference today but, since I did not sign up for the cadaver lab I do not have to be there until noon. 8) 8) 8) And, so far the lavish food has not overwhelmed my fitness plan, hooray for me!

Thanks for the love and support here, guys! Moon should be leaving the hospital soon for a rehab center, gosh he's not really able to walk yet and needs intravenous antibiotics still but hey it's progress :D and he has promised to let me know where he'll be. So if any of you Reno-ites want to visit please send me a PM.

Sorry to have missed the news, Lemur - belated congrats on the new place, good luck getting it all settled in smoothly.

Happy graduation day! Don't worry, Yggy, it'll be too long (in the hot sun) and too short (they grow up so fast, in the briefest of moments it will all be over) all at once, in no time you'll be looking back fondly on what a great day it was in that miserable heat. :)

We're up early and dialing up the caffeine before we ride the muni down to the farmer's market. To paint the whole picture, the muni line we take goes a couple blocks from our house, along the waterfront, past the ballpark and under the Bay Bridge, depositing us at a fun piece of big art (giant bow and arrow sticking out of the ground) on the "SF Esplanade" (city on one side, water on the other). We'll stroll the remaining block to the 100+ year old Ferry Building Farmer's Market and wander the stalls. A nibble and a taste here and there, and of course get a few of our favorite freshies to take home. We've got a busy day after that, so not sure if I'll get to stop into one of my favorite dive bars on the way back. Happy summer! If you've got farmer's markets happening seasonally where you live it's probably worth the effort to locate and travel to.
