Thank you for being such open caring souls, this is what I love to see in the world.

Re: Are you driving from the Pacific Northwest to BRC?
Hi, probably we will have people here on a regular basis a week to a week and a half before the burn, but we don't have any camps building anything here this year yet so you probably would not be immersed in burners. That could change if anyone wants to use our property to prep before going to BRC, including you VenusDreams.

Re: Are you driving from the Pacific Northwest to BRC?
I guess you don't go to Alturas, cause if you do go to Alturas we are just as direct as 395...btw..Captain Goddammit wrote:Absolutely! I've been driving to BRC from Seattle for over ten years; originally I did it in one big loooong day but it's MUCH nicer to split it up.craig1231 wrote: Will be flying in from Albany to Seattle, then driving from Tacoma to Black Rock. I was told it would be a good idea to split the driving up a bit and maybe stay somewhere overnight.
Nowadays I even split it into three; Seattle to burner friend's place in Portland first, then to Cedarville the next day, then to the playa the next.
The only reason I don't stop at WeDeliver's is that I'm getting 5 or 6 MPG in my truck hauling all my stuff and can't afford venture at all off of the most direct path!

Wedeliver, thank you so much for this offering! It was great to meet you last year! Not sure of our plans this year just yet, but hopefully an overnighter will be in the works.

Check your rout against local forest fires...
One year i had to go south to Roseburg on I 5.. HWY 22 out of Salem was closed.. and a warning at the Eugene crossing..
Popular rout is south on I 5 to Eugene Or. then over the mountain and south to K falls.
Another is south from K falls to CA. that way you can stop and see WEdeliver on your way..

Thanks Ygmir. And the grass is in great condition, we have not had to deal with smoke from the fires so far (knock on wood). We have already had a BRC Ranger stop and get some rest and

Yes it was raining yesterday, from what I understand it rained all of Wed night and most of thursday. I was in Redding yesterday at the VA for a med procedure, but back home now.unjonharley wrote:I'll be traveling along CA 299.. So just where is this NEST???

In answer to your second question, we are about 35 miles south of the oregon border. In Modoc County look for the 28.5 mile marker, so as you pass the 29.5 (the mile markers are 1 mile apart on the half mile going south) start looking for the road signs that tell you to turn right towards Medicine Lake. go 2.5 miles and then when you again see signs turn left into the little village of Tionesta and go to the end of the road, if you are coming in at night you will see our "lights" when you are getting close.
after all these years of talking to ya here, Looking forward to your visit, unjonharley, drive safely

Re: Driving from the Pacific Northwest to BRC? Free camping
You know sometimes I forget how much I love Burners... as folks stop in it is bitter sweet since I have to say goodbye so soon.. Next year I will be back on the playa since home is where the heart is and my heart belongs to ttitd. Since the last century it has been my other lover and i miss her so much.
Anyway we have had probably 150 to 200 (maybe more I was gone all day wednesday) folks visit us so far, we expect a bunch tonight and tomorrow...drive safely everyone
