Sorry to keep you all in suspense, and a big THANK YOU for the private emails and phone call. I was going to reply to each individually, but thought it might be easier to do it this way.
Basically, my world was turned upside down when my husband (of 16 years) confessed to me that he is "in LOVE" with my best friend!!!! Of course he is saying this is just a phase and will get over it, but what the FUCK???? How the fuck are you suppossed to deal with that????
I tried my own way with a bunch of xanax and muscle relaxers, but that only made me sleep for 24 hours. (Goddamn liver made of steel!)
I've been crying for days now, and every time I think I will stop, it just starts up again.
I think it hurts worse because I bonded with so many of you this year, and now you're all so far away.
Aw, FUCK IT! Don't want to bore y'all anymore, but I will say this: The DPW doesn't have to worry about building a Man for '04, 'cause I have one to donate!

Can I use both sleeves? And do you have any extra strych-9 around? (I think the hubby needs a cup of coffee)
yes to both sleeves, no to the strych-9.
i'm getting a mental image of lily tomlin in 9 to 5, stirring rat poison in her bosses coffe while dressed as snow white, complete with cartoon animals.

Lora:
I am too far away to be there in person but my e-mail is always up and I am always here to listen to you. I wish I could do more to help. And nothing I say is going to do much good....still if you think of something that I could help with, by all means call on me. I'll shoot you something in private but that is the least I can do.....
Oh man that really sucks.

Fuck
I know just how you feel.......and knowing that feeling make me sick to think of it. Drag that guy off to talk with the profesional counseling and see if it is worth fixing. At this point you need outside help as you are in
vortex. Peace.
vortex. Peace.
Laika and me went on a ride.
Ditto Zona's suggestion for the counselor. The outside voice could help the boy notice what's going on again. Or the process could help you discover new wants of your own. If he won't go with you, you go. You're worth the effort, Lora.
There are ways to go forward from where you are, but get someone to come take away the pills & stuff for a while, OK? Send me email if it'll help. Damn.

And there's your daughter to be thinking about. She'll always need you.Booker wrote:Ditto Zona's suggestion for the counselor. The outside voice could help the boy notice what's going on again. a) my sympathies as well. that's a crap thing to have happen.
b) second the suggestion for couples counseling, even if you have to go by yourself.
c) i think the request for strychnine was for hubby, and not for herself. but if that changes, yell for help. loud.

You all have given me some good advice here. (And yes, I already put my son in charge of the 'meds' on Saturday.)
My son has actually been my rock. Only a couple of you have met him, but he's really a super kid (15). In fact, while I've been in 'zombie' mode, he told me not to worry about getting Becca ready for school. He's been getting her up in the morning, getting her in the shower & dressed and off on the school bus. WOW!
Hubby left for work last night and won't be back until Saturday, which is actually good. I don't know how much more apologizing/groveling I can stand.
We also talked about counseling (HE actually brought it up). I'd like to find something where we can work on our communication skills, because the last thing I want to do is rehash the same thing over and over again.
Anyways, Thanks to all, and in the spirit of this thread, "Fuck Yer Day!"

It does suck. I would, however, offer this bit of advice for moving to the
Bay Area:
Don't leave anything in your car. Even for a little while.
Theft is rampant, people will steal three-year-old cell phones (resale value:
$0), breaking your window in the process. I had a friend lose almost all
of her clothing because it was in the trunk of her boyfriend's car
overnight after returning from a long trip. The trunk, mind you, not in
plain view. They got to it through the pass-thru thingie for skis. Though
we think they were attracted to break in by the stereo, which they also
stole.
And it happens in good areas as well as bad. Some places are much
worse, and some places have about the same theft rate as any urban
area. But the cost in time of not using your car for storage is probably
less than the cost of replacing windows and stuff.
Sorry that happened to you. It sucks. If it makes you feel any better,
the last time my car was broken into, they drank my week-old Gatorade
and my month-old Squirt. I hope I gave them cooties.

Girl! You fucking crack me up! I don't think I met you at the meet & greet (but then again, I might have but was too drunk to realize it). I vow to go to next year's meet & greet sober (well, semi-sober) so I can remember all of you.precipitate wrote: If it makes you feel any better,

Just tuned in & read about Lora's bad experience. It feels so wrong!
I just wanted to say that meeting Lora was one of the high points of this year's burn for me. It would be such a loss to the spirit of Burning Man if you weren't there, Lora! And in my private language, that means a loss to all of our efforts to imagine what salvation can possibly be in these post-modern days.
Hope you remember me, Lora--I gave you the blue philosopher's stone and you gave me the precious dust and ashes that I will always treasure.
Love & all good wishes,
philosopher a.k.a. Greg
