Hey, Hi, Hello...

So it's time I come home for the first time, but I may need some help finding my way. I'm coming from Boston, MA. Getting to the west coast ain't no thang but I need to get in...yeah, I'm still in this weird ticket phase, scouring online. I know the opportunity will find me when IT thinks i'm ready, so I'm making myself easier to be found!

What's that you say? What can I do? I can tie my shoes and count to two but mostly I can contribute!!!! I am a set designer and creative director. I have built stages, designed costumes and ran events. I spin fire poi, can gogo dance and make gluten free treats. But even better than all of those things... I'm a friend.
I want to continue to give back to the global party and beautiful life celebrating community that I have dedicated most of my adult life to, but this time I'd love to do it at home. Can anyone help me open the door to the house? The doorknob is a little tricky... (knock, knock, knock)

The regionals are a good place to find a camp that needs design, though there is generally more need for building and bringing materials than a drop in designer. As mentioned, your social network is more likely to turn up a ticket. That network is also more likely to connect you with a design-oriented camp based on the West Coast, where transportation of camp infrastructure is easier. There are many film industry creatives/agency/indy agency types in camps and the large dance camps often do set design well. If you come to a ticket other than thru STEP be very careful. Know your seller! Try to conduct business face-to-face. NEVER pay for your ticket by wiring money...use PayPal or an escrow service. There's a ton of rip-off artists out there who will gladly prey on the sensitivities of a wannabe Burner.

Get deeply involved with your local Burner community. Hope you make it...sounds like you have a lot to offer.
