Need A Camp? Black Rock French Quarter Inquire Within

Post by chakrakhan » Tue Jun 11, 2013 4:03 pm

The French Quarter is the oldest neighborhood in Black Rock City.

We are looking for natives to join our growing village. Our village is comprised of many different camps..whatever your passion is we have a camp that you would love.

Before Burning Man if you are in Los Angeles, we are putting the shout out for: painters, welders, carpenters, people with tools, graphic designers, worker bees and extra hands to help get us burn ready!

On playa the following camps are looking for seasoned crusty vets and bright eyes newbies looking for a home.

Camps To Quench The Thirst and Encourages Lascivious Behavior
The bar that started it all the GOLDEN CAFE - now celebrating 11 years at burning man. This is the bar for those of you that like your evening free, its a day time bar offering a sinfully expansive experience for your palate. Drinks are creative, and feature exotic elixirs.

Pierre Lafittes Ice Co., offering stiffest drinks served by the most dapper lads and lasses on playa

Tiki Toms Tiki Bar- a playa favorite, that has been revamped with a/c and many tiki treasures

The Shibari Teahouse- Asia Town - every city has its China Town and the French Quarter is no different, come wonder our streets and stumble across tea service delicately served by beautifully bound campers.

Black Rock Brewery is seeking home brewers of delectable beer and mead. Share your concoctions with the playa in our daily tastings and have your brews judged with valuable criticism. We send you home with a customized sampler bag of home brews.

Black Rock Vineyards Tending to one of the last surviving desert Cabernets is serious work! If you are a vintner, we need your skill to help us produce the finest wines ever drawn from a windswept alkaline desert. If you are wine lover, we need your enthusiasm to help us maintain our facilities, host tastings and give tours during Burning Man."

Camps To Tempt the Palate

Black Rock Bakery offering freshly baked and lovely prepared toothsome concoctions of the highly caloric kind! If you like whisking, mixing and baking the bakery is seeking campers with the love of cakes, beignets and pies. Oh My!

Le Prophète Paresseux Gumbo -Some nights the savory smell of Gumbo will seduce you through the doors. Other nights the sweet smell of a cinnamon laced North African, Mediterranean or a French inspired stew that will bring tears to your eyes...The Lazy Prophet is seeking prep cooks who love to challenge the senses and will inspire and create an eclectic and hearty culinary experience.

Cafe de la Fin du Monde You can be the cream in our coffee..The Cafe is offering freshly roasted (on playa) coffee beans, ground and then pressed, percolated then served to you with a smile.

Camps to Cleanse or Sully Your Body and Soul

Broken Angel Bathhouse - the joy of being gifted a golden ticket that provides the filthy heathens roaming the playa a chance to spruce up!. The bathhouse provides unsuspecting citizens with a hot shower, or bath, oodles of scented soap, shampoo, creamy lotions, massages and IF you'd like to be bathed by a gorgeous angel tossed out of heaven for her trangressions...who are we to judge?

The Botanika Bodhi Manman Nan Bejeezus - the French Quarters spiritual source. Whether you are damned or want to be we can offer insight and change into your life through tarot, spell casting and energy healings. We also offering classes on astrology and candle magic...come in for a spell, stay a whole week. We are looking for experienced readers, astrologers and healers.

Gigsville, Hushville, Fandango, BDC, the "gayborhood" ... boy, who knew the French Quarter had been around longer than them? Well, if the whole "neighborhood" has to be under the umbrella of one name, then the gayborhood is out...

I didn't list "camps", those are all villages, which are mini-neighborhoods (much like yours). Well, the gayborhood is actually a neighborhood - a ton of unaffiliated camps that are placed and set up in the same general area.

It's Saturday, just pointing out the obvious while waiting to go drinking.

We have an immediate need for people who LOVE coffee! At the Cafe fin du Monde, we roast beans right on playa, grind them and them serve it piping hot with a smile.
Pierre Lafittes Ice Co., looking for souls with a not so discerning love of all things whiskey and icey! If you would like to serve three fingers of the murky stuff, inquire within.
The Botanika Bodhi Manman Nan Bejeezus offers things of an other worldly nature! Do you read, tarot, tea leaves, or palms? Are you a reiki healer or crystal healer? Then we have space for you! Please visit: http://www.blackrockfrenchquarter.org/join/ and a camp leader will contact you soon!

Love and Dust!
