Re: What's the deal with boots
I've had playa foot type cracks for the last two years now. I'm trying to take care of my feet, but they're pretty calloused. The cracks are in the callouses though, so they don't hurt. But my camp does vinegar foot baths, and I'll spritz my feet quite often, so wearing sandals hasn't made them any worse.
I'm not a slut, I'm good time floozy!

I tend to rock sneakers/flip flops if I put shoes on... I vinegar my feet a couple times a day and sometime walk around shoeless... I haven't had playafoot yet. I also haven't found a pair of boots I love and want to wear on the playa yet.

Computer crashed, so I don't have internet at home right now, so I haven't been on in over a month. I was surprised at how many responses this thread got when I logged on today.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Re: What's the deal with boots
I have never once in all the years I've been going done a vinegar or lemon foot wash. I'll swab my feet quickly with wet-wipes before I put socks on, but that's about it. I'll also walk around camp barefoot now. Still haven't gotten playa foot. I do watch for it, because I'm not an idiot, but so far my body chemistry appears to be acidic enough to counter-act the dust.
I still want new boots this year. Or at least new-to-me boots. *sigh*
