Any word from anybody who is nearby? I'm not close enough to be able to take ownership of this but if the right weekend was selected and I was able to camp for onsite I would be willing to spend a whole weekend working on the Cloud. Any chance we could set up a whole work weekend just for the cloud?

Hey, I am the fucked up go to guy! I tore a muscle in my leg about three weeks ago! Still can't get around very well! Like Doc says we need some serious help finding an Killer Idea for decorations. An some talented peeps to make it happen. I built the framework last year, come on lets get this fucking thing back out to the playa!!! I Still have the Flame Shit, all new valves. This sucks. Our three main generators, the 5500-watt for the camp and the two 2500-watt gennies for The Cloud Car and Barbie's Mobile Whorehouse were stolen. It seems the people who were storing them knew they were swiped back around the first of the year, found out their insurance wouldn't cover replacement, and decided, using those immortal words of Charlie Brown, "No problem is so big that it can't be ran away from." So when we went into storage to fetch the generators to get to work on the art cars, guess what? When confronted with the question, "Uh, where are our generators?" they fessed up. So now we have to spend a buttload of money to replace those gennies that had been paid for just to get the basic infrastructure up and running. This not only really sucks but completely screws our budget. If anyone has a suggestion (we're looking at Craigslist today) I'd love to hear it.

Check Costco - locally they have (Had) 2KW inverter generators for around $650. 4-stroke Yamaha engine, ~55dB so quiet with small loads, pretty fuel efficient, pretty light. I bought one, haven't tested it yet but likely will give it a run-through this weekend. I'm bringing it but I've already committed it to Ohio Boyz.

I also have a 5KW I use for the house. It's getting a little long in the tooth but still works fine. Loud, very loud, worse than the noises coming from Doc's RV. If things don't work out on replacing the BDV generator, let me know, I can likely fit it in somehow.

Hi Doc; PlayaPoppa here. I have a 5000 watt genset (Honda). It's mounted on small wheels; has 240Volt/ 120 outputs @ 30 amps. It has been to the Playa before, I hadn't planned on bringing it this year; but I can bring it with me for your use. PM me here at Triken's and we can work out the details for getting it to your camp. I hope this helps !
