Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Same here as trilo. 9 weeks and two days. K figure once August comes around I will start actually panicing. But the only thing that's necessary is the ticket everything else can be replaced or supplemented on the way.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

The thing about Some Like it Hot is that everyone is in disguise, not just Geraldine and Daphne. Sweet Sue is anything but, and Kandy Kane is hiding her Polish ancestry.
I'm sure that there's more to say in terms of the gangsters, but it's been a long time since I've seen it and I hope this gets the damn english major out of my head for another decade.

Fishy, you are exactly right about that film and that is why it is such an enduring classic... we are all, one way or another, spending too much time in hiding.
With that cheerful thought, let's have some
and resolve to restart this day with renewed energy.

True, but my second year, I spent $300 'on the way' for things that I didn't need.
This year, it's all laid out on tables in the garage and checked with various 'packing lists' that are available floating about.
Some of the stuff just needs to be checked for batteries, leaks, tears, and such. I 'think" I checked it before I cleaned it and put it all away last year, but there is no harm in double-checking.
Or panicking.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
The stuff that just gets packed is easy enough, I could pull that together in a few hours if I needed to. It's the stuff that still doesn't exist that concerns me, especially with some major unrelated project that had previously been simmering on the back burner now moving to the front and doing its best to become top priority. It doesn't jeopardize my ability to go to the burn, but could severely disrupt my build schedule.

If we were just bringing a camp, we could leave tomorrow. Things would be unsorted and the bikes would be sad, but we could do it.

I have had a great day doing Burney things here. Now I will have a glass of wine. Anybody else, while I'm pouring? I know I am hours ahead of most of you.

I spoke with Elliot last week, and yes, his computer's down. Also he's gearing up for a Kinetic Sculpture Race over the last weekend of June, and so, won't be going to the Hof. He will be missed.
He asked me to assure everyone that he's doing well, and is happy... which I believe I posted here that same day.

We are at 6% humidity here in Utah. Too hot too soon. Red Flag days, and that ain't a celebration.

Hi gang!
I spent the last two days driving to Salem OR, and back.
Dang, I just can't drive long times like I used to. seems every few hours, I have to get out and walk around, and twice had to nap for 15 mins or so. And it's only a little over 500 miles. Took 12 dang hours to get there, and back.
I'm beat. *dives into NEB*

Morning, WB, FJ and AntiM, Join the rest of us, YG. Driving to LA last week we had traffic congestion on I 5 where traffic actually stopped or slowed to 30 mph for long stretches. Coming back it was 70 plus all the way. But we do stop at every rest stop along the way. Good lunch at Harris Ranch. Well, Happy Hump Day and another week closer to the dust!!! Got to do some glazing this weekend for sure! So many parties ..... so little time!!!

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
I'm noticing it beginning! the great eplayan ocean of motion. each of us getting more and more busy with projects and summer weekend plans, the fundraisers and circuits. Then the influx of DESPERATE TICKET yahoos, Amateur snark artist and Unchecked Egos, we change from the online community seems everyone has a plan, a party or an Agenda. or as we Bokononist say; "Busy Busy, Busy"
I will be traveling too, I leave tomorrow Evening for Eastern WA to the Conscious Festival in Tonasket, then on to The Rainbow Gathering in Montana to see friends and Family and try to spread some good Ideas, afterward I'll be headed down to SLC for a weekend with a friend and then onto Reno.
whew I'm already tired from packing, stressing, thinking, over-thinking and to top it off I strained my back yesterday so that's really sore now too. but I am excited, I'm most alive while I travel. and This is gonna be another awesome Summer.

Pack a good jacket and warm socks, the Gathering is at a chilly elevation this year, I see.
Wave at Ogden as you travel south.
Yeah, that time of year. I think I'm getting wound up, but it is probably just menopause encroaching. I'm going to blame everything on menopause this year. And next. And next. Woohoo.
