Fundraiser: The Diodome needs your help!

The Diodome is an 18ft diameter geodesic dome with a beautiful cover containing hundreds of LEDs that create a surface of light that surrounds you. You can interact with the surface by playing with a touch sensitive control dome on a platform inside the piece allowing you to change the animations being shown all around you. Here's a video mockup to give you an idea of what this will be like on the playa.

We have 5 days left on the fundraiser, we've reached about 50% of our target so need a little help to make it over the last hump. The campaign is up on IndieGoGo at http://igg.me/at/diodome so please share the link and show your support. We also have a Facebook group setup at http://facebook.com/diodomeart.

If you are technically inclined you can contribute to the animations using the online animation editor at http://diodome.heroku.com by writing JavaScript to control the LEDs. Some people have already contributed some great animations and we're expecting many more to come later on.

Based on the video, it looks like this is a dome I'd actually be able to get into. So, I'm giving this thread a bump.

Hopefully we can make it a dome everyone will love. We're intending it to be fairly far out in the outer playa, so it should be a cool little spot with ambient music and nice visuals.

We got the first samples of cover material the other day, we were hoping to test them out on the dome structure with some of the LEDs this weekend but unfortunately the dome poles haven't arrived yet (problem with shipping). Should look really cool though the material has a lovely random organic feel to it (plain white soft Tyvek) which should add a layer of depth to the surface that should look gorgeous.

We've just put together another video of some of the animations people are creating using the animation editor. Some lovely effects in here and this is just the start. Many of these animations are just proof of concepts for code we can use in a variety of ways to produce a whole slew of different animations. So stay tuned for more cool stuff to come:
