pads are for putting under the jacks , got some sawhorses for it to sit on from the previous owner. It has a metal bottomygmir wrote:congrats!!tatonka wrote:bought a camper ,will pick it up Sun. are the pads so it clears your truck roof?
if so, make sure the floor is made to be suspended like that. Campers usually ride, and are made to ride, sitting flat in the bed of a truck, so, the center of the floor area may be flexy/spongy without support.

I use one of those pink hard foam 4x8 pieces of insulation they sell at Home Depot to raise my camper a few inches. That stuff is perfect! It weighs almost nothing and spreads the load evenly across the whole floor.

Actually she used to be a painter, and insisted on doing it! I was the slave, doing disassembly and reassembly, prep, masking, etc.

camper fell thru
my bed between wheel wells is 49" , his 85' camper was 49 1/2 inches . It was a camper used in Alaska and it had ex-insulation . So will look for another , or just buy 4 tires for my trailer my Dad gave me , and drag it home and get everything working . Never pulled a large trailer before ( 19.5 ft )

Friday: Postwoman delivered ticket -surprisingly my better half did not say the defaultia equivalent of "Sic who?" and signed for it.
Saturday: bought ticket for Spark although not technically physical prep, I'm categorizing it under mood adjuster and motivation booster.
Today: picked this up at a garage sale:
]
I'm not sure what it is, it's made by Coleman has what looks like 2 florescent bulbs, has a switch for either one bulb, two or off and runs on 8 D batteries. It's pretty bright, the fellow said the batteries are new. It's about a foot high and 8 inches across. I figure it might be easier to find than a flashlight if nature calls in the middle of the night (although I may need to clip sunglasses to it to prevent temporary blindness). Worse case I bought 8 D batteries for $5.
I almost bought a cap (black of course) that had SECURITY written across the front. When I told Mrs Pup I thought that it might be cool to embroidery "IN" in front of it I picked up on the ever so subtle eye rolling and barely perceptible sigh and reckoned it might not be so cool after all.

That's not that big for a trailer and you have plenty of truck to pull it.

Made a run to GoodWill this morning.. Sunday is the color change day.. Picked up a small plastic flatware tray.. Also a wooden tray with sides.. The flatware tray fits into the wood tray.. Now to cut a wood lid to help keep the dust out..
Color change day.. Is the day that colored price tags of this week are half price..
Good Will is not all the way around the world..

Picked up a nice (i.e. good for my needs) lantern-style exterior light fixture from a building materials salvage for City of Lites. The finial was already gone so it saved me the trouble of removing it to make room for the solar cell. Working on replacing the missing glass with some frosted acrylic with red stars.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Bought a few odds and ends today. Solar powered lanterns to light my guy lines, plastic dropcloth material to cover car interior, another large plastic crate, and a new plastic basin for foot baths/hair washing. Almost done!!! Just need to get a garden sprayer and figure out a wooden bike rack.
Speaking of, anyone have plans/instructions for a simple wooden bike rack, probably to hold 5-6 bikes? I've googled it and found a couple that I think will work, but if anyone has a playa-friendly design I would very much appreciate it!

Finished my dog tags. That sweet hum of the engraver going every goddamn second that I'm at home is gone now. The apartment seems really quiet now.

Maylina, Google bike rack pallet. There are some easy designs made from pallets you can adapt and make for FREE if you use old pallets.
I went shopping today for a toolbox/tacklebox. I want all of my hair, make-up and jewelry in one giant organized heap.
WM had 19" toolbox for $10. I'll drop in some organizer trays. Done.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
You can also make a cool looking bike rack on the cheap using a sheet of plywood and the design at playatech (for a donation of I think $5 or $10). We did that last year for a couple bike racks, and will probably make a couple more this year.
I had to order some of the paint I needed online. The local Blick art supply store had run dry on a couple colors I'd been using, and the bastards in the local shop have been doing a crap job of re-ordering stock. Then tonight I finally got around to putting in an order for more gaffer tape and tie line (go-to det/production items, we'll need plenty of both for our installation).

One item for the day.... Skeeter bites. Even on the bottoms of my feet. BUT found out they are acidic bites so went to the cupboard and took out my bag if playa, mixed up some with water in to a paste and put them onto my bites that were driving me nuts. No more itchiness!! Yay! The playa provided!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Yep did it last night cause I was so itchy and no calamine. The skeeter are horrible this year cause of the massive flooding we had but it Still does not itch 12 hours later. I do how ever look like a cave man lol.
Had to research homemade itch treatments for skeeter bites and found out the are some type of acid that starts with a F. So using what little I learned in school... Alkaline neutralizes acid... Playa is highly alkaline... So yeah. It did work.
