Body paint and sunscreen
Body paint and sunscreen
Hello everyone. Happy to join eplaya.
Newbie question here. Searched the board, couldn't find any useful info, so forgive me if this is indeed a re-post.
I'm looking to use body paint for my first Burn, in lieu of wearing a costume every day. I'm not looking to cover my entire body with it, or even entire body parts -- I'm thinking just brushing stripes and designs here and there with a few colors.
1. Does body paint affect your sunblock application? And does it go over or under the paint?
2. What's the best paint to use, especially if you're skin's somewhat sensitive? I've been told latex is good and easy to get off. Any more feedback?
Thanks, everyone.

This is a quote from the instructions that came with the paints I bought:
"Paint has no SPF value and in fact, the black and other dark colors can amplify UV rays. Please apply sunscreen before painting if you plan to be out doors for a long period of time. IMPORTANT: Sunscreen will affect the properties of the makeup - Allow enough time for sunscreen to absorb."

same rules as makeup- like everyone has said- put the sunscreen on first, let it soak in (20-30 min), then apply paint.
Latex does not breathe and will interfere with sweating. If you're going to wear latex body paint during the day, use minimally. At night you have a little more freedom with it. You're better off with a professional style body paint during the day, which you can get at any costume store.

So if latex body paint doesn't breath,
Can I just paint my junk and save my condoms for gray water removal?

Re: Body paint and sunscreen
Sorry to dig out old posts, but this is important.
DO NOT USE LATEX BODY PAINT INSTEAD OF CONDOMS!
A condom is hundreds of layers of latex, where as your paint is one.
A condom is produced with a very even coat and low margin of error, where your paint will be gloppy and inconsistent.
The paint will break long before a condom.

He was kidding . . . (hence his remark about using condoms for grey water removal instead). You are kind to have tried to help, though.LauraGrace42 wrote:Sorry to dig out old posts, but this is important.

Ah, wouldn't "gloppy and inconsistent" kind of add to the experience?

I've had boyfriends like that, and believe me, the charm wears off quite quickly.maladroit wrote:Gloppy and inconsistent for her pleasure.
