Hi Everyone!!! Had the pleasure of Little Flower's company here at our place last night and we spent today day soaking at the Hot Springs. Great lady, ((((Little Flower)))!!!

Hilarious wedding story, YG!!! Aserendipity, Little Flower and I are looking forward to arriving at the Hof by about noon on Saturday. Bringing up some tri-tip and sausages and some beer. Can't wait to see you all on Saturday!

Good story, Rhino, and good luck with the lady.

And a big Yay for the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions. My two daughters and their wives and their four children are all very happy that they now have equality.

interesting thing i found out when you volounteer for rangers they want you to pick 5 possible names. now as a person who has never had a nickname in my life (that stuck anyway) i was completely lost for inspiration, even with coffee and booze to help. any ideas anyone?

Hmm. Go to a real or online thesaurus and start looking up words that describe you, until you find a synonym that amuses you, & has several syllables. (I'm told the Rangers all have at least 2 syllables, so that their names are easier to hear over the radio. Correct?)

I'd probably be Ranger Loquacious, if they'd let me.

I'm not comfortable enough with confrontation to be a Ranger, so you're welcome to that if it fits you. Might be too long . . .

Other ideas: movie character heros or villains, comic book heros, city names, dance styles or planets.

oh, such good stories of recent events.
I woke up at three this morning, and since I had to be up at 4, figured what the hell. I soldered up my little foghorn kit. Now... I've been looking at it for a half hour, wanting to test it. If it works, it will be a bad thing to do to my neighbors, in an apt. complex, where I am used to my neighbor's snoring. I think it might also just do a weird wimpy mmmmeeeeeeee-ooooooo. in which case, I'll be dissapointed.
anyway, I've put it off till I get home, and then I'll find out.

it was filmed by several, I'm just hoping to get a copy...........and, well, one side was catholic and devout xtian, the other not........I note most of the laughter from the latter stated side.......but plenty of glares and "crossing themselves" from the catholics.........

haha at a a point, I was standing with the grooms father, and a couple of the groomsmen. One produced a nice bottle of whiskey. Not thinking that most of the seated guests could see me, I took a large draught as the bottle was passed.
oh......the expressions on some of the crowds faces was priceless.........BBWWHAAHAHAA

and then, just as the ceremony was to begin, I had a quick "give and take" with the DJ:

DJ, walks up with microphone, as big as an ice cream cone, while I'm holding notes:
"here, hold this close to your mouth while you speak"

me:
"fuck you" if you want it used, you hold it"

DJ:
well, people need to hear you"

me: " I can speak pretty loud and clear, so..........unless you can clip something on, no"

DJ: "but, you need to"

me" "fuck off"

DF, looking down: oh......this is on"........

I look up, again, to a half horrified, half hysterical laughter, crowd.

Yeah, graidawg, the name needs to be easy to pronounce/understand over the radio, and not easily confused with someone else's call sign.

I'd start with Graidawg (you might want to mention it'd be pronounced 'gray dog'), then add to it from there (I think there's a two syllable min). What about Glazer? Sort of a bastardization of glazier (the kind of work you do, if I remember correctly), mixed up with the word laser (which is always awesome, in my book).... or Glazer Brain (I think laser brain was an insulting term Leia called Han Solo in Empire Strikes Back, and let's face it, Han's pretty badass). Admittedly, I need more caffeine.. fortunately there are some other great ideas above me

OMG the wedding sounded awesome and hilarious, Ygmir! Congrats and kudos and all that. I'm incredibly bummed about not getting to see you and everyone else this weekend, instead of prepping gear for the trip I'm prepping notes and demos for weekend morning meetings...

Ask for what you want! The worst they can say is "no". Even then, it won't be an arbitrary "no" that hurts your feelings or insults your taste, it'll be a practical no--someone has it, or the sounds are too hard to hear.

And that's why they ask you for 5 ideas. List them in order of preference. If they're ALL taken, it's back to the drawing board; no big deal.
