Awesome!! Simple means less to go wrong.
You can certainly give yourself whatever comforts you want with burner tested & developed methods found all over this board. I've had a couple old simple rigs like that - I think you'll find the closet more useful as a closet than a porta-potty room. Campers get hot though, I bet a FIGJAM cooler would totally rock in there.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
yeah the porta potty in the camper is over rated, mostly. The JOTS are very well services, with few exceptions, out there.
Cool score. a couple of full size solar panels on the roof and you've got battery recharge and no worries about setup or anyone stepping on them.

Good on you, It sound like a playa rig to me.. Waste water tube to the container out side.. Shower inside just get plugged with playa cement.. Use WD on the jacks.. A pee funnel to jug to go the JOT's makes your inside pottie go a long way.. It's the pee that take up the room and makes the odor..Happy motoring..tatonka wrote:got a camper today , buddy from HS who I work with said his family had a old one . Went and looked at it and its kinda old but doesnt smell and its dry. They put a sealer on the roof at one time , and it looked like it had a leak before. It has a propane stove and a sink , but no water tank . The sink has a pump that runs to a hole to the outside of the rig , will have to fiqure everything out. It has a closet where you can put a porta pottie. No shower , but I have a solar bag for that. But it was FREE with a title , tags expired feb 2013 , so it was used not to long ago. The jacks for it are not hydralick , they seem to be a screw kinda. Going to pick it up this weekend

Re: One Item for BM a Day
When I had a camper with an overboard sink drain (that's how they used to do it, the old camper sinks just dumped right out the side of the camper on the ground!) I just ran the drain hose to a 5 gallon bucket.
You'll love your little hard-sided house when a dust storm hits, but remember to always close it up tight, roof vents, windows, etc before you leave camp. A buddy of mine didn't and came back to find it full of dirt.
Also, use tape to seal up any seams, access hatches, or other points of dust entry. And bring extra tape to seal the ones you didn't know about until a storm hits!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
check , will use some wd on the jacks and got lots of tape
it has a 6 way plug on it and I have 2 - 4 ways , one 4 way for each side of veh I guess. Will see what pwr comes out of them today , will then wire both to a 6 way and test the camper lights.

There used to be a lot of oddball old plugs, you can also just change it to something more common.

got one in process of being made, I cut the holes and thats it so far
Is it better to take camper off of truck at playa , or leave it on truck? Was thinking of the storage room under camper .

WooHoo!
Scored two tickets! I WILL be on the playa!
It wasn't STEP or Craigslist or eplaya, it was networking with burner friends down in Portland.

Painted a Phoenix on my parasol today. Hubby says it looks more like a goose on fire! Lol! Regardless, I like it! One more to paint.... No plan / inspiration for that one yet.

Congratulations, Captain Goddammit!
Beautiful work, PhoenixFemme! . . . Hey.
Tell your husband I'm pretty sure I've seen a picture of a Canadian Goose walking on the playa.
(And the odds are: he was in flames by the end of the week.)

Yeehah! Captain G..... I hope we cross paths.
That's just beautiful, PhoenixFemmeFatale, stunning work. Please post a pic of the other one when you complete it.
I bet there were no cherries or apples to go along with the cooked goose, Sav.
I was soaking in the sun and basking in my minor victory (or vica versa) today and I inadvertently picked up the Survival guide with my newspaper today. What the hell, I reread it (shit I've been known to read tissue boxes if they weren't running away too quickly), I didn't glean anything new from it other than I thought it said somewhere that a Ranger can issue a citation for some sort of infraction (obviously not paying an inordinate amount of attention). I got to daydreaming, how do they ensure one pays? Do they form en masse and glare at you, menacingly? Do they threaten you with the prospect of harsh words and or wet noodles? Do they call your mom (and if so, what do they call her)? Do they make you listen to dub 24/7 for a week straight...... oh wait.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Tomservo, nice handlebars! I'm going to have to take another ride on the beast to see if I need to change the bars out.
I freewheeled the coasterbrake on my beast and am in the process of putting on front and rear cantilever brakes.
I got ticket conformation yesterday....and have checked the tracker often but its still gonna be a day or so. But YAY!! They're on the way!
Today the handlebar basket came for my bike and I liked it so much I ordered another for my trike.
Great score on the FREE camper Tatonka!!
PhoenixFemme, beautiful work!
CaptG......YAY!!!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
It's hot here today so I tested the Figjam Bucket Cooler. 106 in the shade on my back porch and 78 degree air coming out. It's pretty humid here so it's not as effective as it will be on the Playa.

I have my big swamp cooler on the roof going. 80 degrees in the hall on high, and 106 outside. Hard to cool a whole house. I've gone into the basement. I can feel the cooler temps on my legs as I go down the stairs.

Do you have a link to the supposed map?
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Sorry I was just assuming everyone knew "Doc Pyro's" means Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro, actually now Barbie Death Village.
