it has been a long time. Things are good here. Looks like no desert for us this year, but 2014 will be our ten year anniversary to I'm going to try and make it happen.

I haven't made it back to the dust since '05 and I'm really excited about going this year.
Bringing my sister with too. She's never been there.

Oh wow, 2005? I bet your anticipation levels are spiking! Mine do just at the thought of going. If we had ticket's I'd be giddy. You'll have a blast, I'm sure. 2010 was my last trip out and I miss it. Interesting how many new faces there are around here. Also cool that there are still some recognizable ones too.

I agree with the non-attachment thing. I try to stay busy and think long term, but frankly I'm very much missing a big bunch of people right about now and feel that 2014 will have to happen.

Not entirely sure about the scope of the block party, but I remember Pink Mammoth camp from some years back so figured it was sort of neat to hear about it on a radio station out of London, England.

I have always camped across the street room the Pink. It's loud droning sound camp.. Maybe up or more than a thousand dancing at one time.. It would wake me up about four in the morning when it stopped.

Plan to be on 5 and the pots this year..

The Pink Mammoth thing tomorrow night is a fundraiser for their camp. Distrikt is also having a fundraiser event in SF tomorrow night, as is Hookahdome. Camp Kimono's doing a wine 101 class as a fundraiser on Sunday.

There's also a Center Camp Cafe crafting party at BMHQ tomorrow. There's a Burning Man 101 Workshop in Oakland tomorrow (how to prepare for your first burn) at the NIMBY space. There's a playa fashion trunk show on Sunday, they get 2-3 dozen burner/designers together all doing booths and stuff.

There's more stuff out there, that's just the stuff that's directly related to event-prep or is a fundraiser for something on the playa...in the bay area...that I know of. I think it's also a big work weekend for DPW and the man crew, I keep seeing 'in progress' pics from friends who are involved. 'tis the season!

Hey Martinsky, I've been camping in Hushville for the past 6 years and will be happy to welcome you this year. We have a theme camp in Hushville called Althing. Very loose and really fine group of folks. Have 3 Burgin ladies camping with me this year in addition to our entourage of about 20 folks. I know that you'd be very welcome.
