Happy birthday, Fishy! And happy toasty weekend all, I hope the unseasonably warm weather on the west coast makes for extra-awesome campout weather for those at the Hof this weekend. Lots of stars in the sky, and not too chilly even in the dead of night.

Congrats, Captain! I had no doubts you'd get it worked out, but sure is nice to hear it's sorted.

The HOF was fun. And since it's 108 in Newcastle today, a respite from the heat was deffinitely in order. Now I know where to escape to should the zombie apocalypse ever decend into Northern California. The road to the HOF (and I swear I am not making this up) was the worst I've ever driven on in my entire life, and that includes a "road" that was nothing more than a washed-out stream bed going into a back holler in West Virginia. But a splendid time was had by all. And Pinemom does fire spinning justice indeed.

'back from the Hof. Not the worst road I have ever driven. Great company, awesome food. Warm weather made the lake very inviting for a swim, or float. The Hof is not the open air yak shelter it once was. Glass doors, Hanging chairs and a new stone floor, and of course a seriously marvelous oven/stove.

This is a portion of good road near where my parents lived. in dry weather. add 8 days of rain to this, maybe some new house's driveway fill covering up the drainage,. Cab drivers, and many people who could afford cars, drove basic Toyota and Nissan, Hyundai, Daihatsu sedans. The Korean cars weren't much for interior comfort, but they held together pretty well on these roads. creep creep, watch the undercarriage.

this little Pony was awesome, we drove it everywhere.

Happy day after Birthday to Fishy!

*strolls in*
wow, what a party!!
and dang me, didn't take a picture, one!
But, I tell ya, and I don't mean to be cliche , but, "what friends"!!
all at once, every one was scurrying about, and, (approx.) 2 tons of granite floor was in and fitted like a puzzel. Had I brought enough (forehead slap), the whole thing would have been finished!! And, so cool that it's the "work of friends".........

And the food.........." does Gourmet meat fest" mean much? wow, adn so much more.

a great fire spinning performance by our own "Pine"........holy cow!! *thumpy, thump, thump*

sigh....it's always over too soon.

I so hope, more can make it next year!!

and Doc: you think that road was bad? I know it's all relative, and 500' drops on a single lane bumpy dirt road are not the norm, but, well, I'll take ya for a ride sometime, and show ya some bad roads.

Just well, thanks to everyone who made it!!

First off, the important business.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FISHY!!!

Many happy returns.

My weekend was good. Saw the new Sandra Bullock film "Heat" with my new lady friend. We laughed a LOT. Back to her place for dinner. FRESH tomatoes, asparagus lightly broiler sauteed, sliced beef brisket, and twice-baked potato. Excellent, and proof positive she knows how to cook. I thought about the Hof party, and raised my glass (filled gently with Corralejo tequila over ice) to the west, and toasted y'all in the midst of merrymaking. She wondered who it was I was toasting, and I told her, "Just a few of my 50,000 friends from that thing in the desert."

She'll be a burner yet. Hope hope.

Thanks Ygmir!

Today it's off to the far reaches of southwest Missouri. Ever heard of Lamar, Missouri? Wyatt Earp was the first town constable there. Lamar is also the home of Harry Truman originally.

Must be something in the water.
