:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I had to turn off the swamp cooler and go sleep in the basement. Cooler was drawing in smoke, and plenty of neighbors were shooting off fireworks in the street.

Our cats are old hands with fireworks. We live within fairly close range to the ballpark and can hear the fireworks at nearly every home game (our old place was even closer to the stadium).

We enjoyed a nice day of working on art. Painting and clear-coating parts, and Pandorra made a little progress on both an outfit project she's been pushing along, and redesigning some parts she's making for her washing-up station in the kitchen. And I got my ziggurat panel art fine-tuned a tiny bit more.

I woke up this morning to check on a big render that had been chugging along for the last several days, and should have finished this morning. It finished up all right, right on schedule. But something didn't work as expected and the resulting shot was useless. D'oh! 102 hours of render time, down the drain. Fortunately, I was able to figure out exactly what the cause was pretty quickly (learning from my mistakes in action), and it sent me down a path researching another solution and an hour later I think I've got it sorted. I'll give it another try in a bit, and hopefully get the results I'm looking for next week.

Oh, (((Trilo))) what a huge frustration!

Here, take a break, have a drink with me, it's too hot to work, anyway:

The margaritas here are SOOOOOO good. Nice to catch up with you all. Haven't been here for a couple months - hard to stay when I know it's probably a few more years 'til the next burn for me. Decided last year to see more of the world before I'm totally decrepit. Bratislava, Vienna & Bulgaria are lovely. You'll have to trust me since I deleted nearly all the pictures. Including the pictures of the Austrian locomotive and Swarovski show window that I took just for you, Fishy. Maybe it's for the better. Hugs 'n kisses. But maybe next year's Hoff party, hmmm? Yes, maybe that could be done.

Jumping in just to say thanks for the welcome backs and well wishes from everyone (after being ambushed into the hospital for a month, ugh) the docs said "it's just going to be an over night test, blah blah blah" Arrrrg....apparently over night can mean days/weeks/months...or worse  !! F*cking bad backs suuuuuuck!

I'll pull through, we hope!! In the meantime it looks like it's Camp Envy for me n my crew this year (ty C.E.! & plz wave to the cameras ever'body!) Then most likely back to the infamous Black Rock City Department of Mobility Camp a.k.a. "the dirty, drunken, lazy, dusty, cripple's camp" in future years (they do a bang up job for the truly screwed)

No worries Doc Pyro....I'll return to BDCamp & WB to make some flaming spinning twirling fire cocktails (this time with a topless female assistant) at the BDCamp Village, inside Illy's Gnome dome, or perhaps your living room Doc! heh heh... :D

Less than 60 days to go...!! Then perhaps the Reno decompression party....in the meantime HAVE A FANTASTIC BURN!

Much Looooove, Moonrise :P
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!

Lordy, this thing is moving sooooo slowly today, or is it just me? Good to see you back Moon. I hope what I read means that we will see you on Playa this year. Morning (((MDF))). Cooled down a bit yesterday and this morning so the tennis today should be just fine. Ran a kiln load on Thursday night so should be cool enough to open by this evening. Get to see how this year's Boobles have come out. ("Boobles" name courtesy of MDF)

Have a great rest of the weekend, kiddies

You're not imagining things. Maintenance work by our site hosts has slowed everything down for a bit. Trilobyte will take ePlaya offline for a few hours around midnight PST:

The last couple of weeks I have "inadvertently" been using MS Internet Explorer, and my pooter slowed to a crawl -- specially with ePlaya. Switching back to Firefox sped things back up.

I am not ready. not ready. but the time comes, and it's into the car, and off I go.
Today, I get to do a little preventative maintenance and get some blood drawn. Then, it's project fun time. I got some new batteries charged last night, and will see how they work. Loud noises coming from the garage, do not worry. I'll be up to my elbows as well in dusty solar lights, trying to see what is working. achoo!

after the blood test... I want coffee, and I have a hankering for cabin biscuits with butter and vegemite.

Great pics, both of the Hof and UD storming the winery :)

Speaking of storming the winery, we're off to the local booze joint, they're having a 5 cent sale on 2nd bottles, that makes some pretty decent plonk downright affordable, so we're going to stock up on some bubbly for the gf.

Got a report last night from Danger Ranger, says the playa was both the windiest and the muddiest on record over the last few days. The mud's due to some recent rains, we'll see what happens over the next few weeks weather-wise.

Part of me is envious of people who say they're ready to go to Burning Man this early. I don't think I've ever been ready this far out before - I'm usually still in the middle of building/making stuff, and still getting things stocked up. Then again, if I was totally done getting ready now, I'd probably dive into some other project (there's still plenty of time to sew an outfit or two)...

Feel like I'm ready to load the car and get on my way to the dust. Unless they have more rain between now and then, should be a pretty hard surface, I would think. I've been there after a rain with lots of mud and then almost within hours, it was dry as a bone. Whatever, it will be what it will be and it will be grand (I hope)! Just tested my monkey hut shade configuration. In the past, I used 2 10 footers for the arch with the stakes 10 feet apart. I just tried 2 11 footers for the arch and the stakes 12 feet apart and the height is about 3 inches higher and so it will work fine covering my 12 foot wide tent/massage studio. One more challenge vanquished!!!

Boobles came out ok and so I have one especially for your saved cleavage space (((MDF))). You get a personal fitting,

Pictures of the Hof were great, LF. Piney was awesome spinning fire. Maybe someone else got some pics of her!

Hey Grai, your guy, Andy Murray, won Wimbledon! First Brit to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936, 77 years ago. (I remember it well) It was an exciting match to watch. Almost as exciting as UD storming the castle.

Back to work tomorrow......
