I didn't know there was a difference but American inches, and I measured. Just so happens I have the right tool for that.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Alas, I won't be able to get a drink order in until late tonight, I'm at my workshop joint etching cuneiform onto ziggurat panels. But drink I shall - if all goes well I'll be done with that chunk of the project tonight, woohoo! And if it doesn't, well, I'll be drowning my sorrows in vodka lol.

It's an ancient structure from the future, technological mashups are bound to happen.

And on that subject, woo fucking hoo and drinks all around! I've finally finished the last of the etching. That also marks the completion of all my shopbot work on the project (well over a hundred hours of machine time over the last 4 months). Still a massive amount of work left to do, but it's a big milestone for me. Time to go soak my brain in vodka for a while.

I am a nurse. I help for my living because I can't stop caring. But sometimes, the hardest and kindest thing to do for folks who need too much assistance is to stop helping before they get themselves in trouble.

Yes, we should Keep Burning Man Potentially Fatal. But I want to fall to my own mistakes, not someone else's...

*comes running in, waving a photograph, grinning*

Hey gang! Look what I found! And just in time for this year's event -- a picture from last year, to set the mood! This shows a happy bicycle customer named Bill, and the picture was taken by his wife Marta. The bicycle has a splendid history on the Playa going back to 2008, when I gifted it to Marta -- after their truck was stolen with all their gear on the way to BRC. They come by every year to show me they are still using it. Judging by my tool selection, it needed a minor adjustment this time. :P

I notice in that picture that I ought to have worn a bow tie. (Note to self....)

Delle, you are looking at the location where Pat and Andy met. Maybe a few feet to the left.

You may borrow that wrench anytime, Savannah, and I have a bigger one if you have bigger Stuff -- or crankier neighbors or something.

Oh.... Anybody going to the Sparks movie in Santa Rosa tonight? Don't know if I will be wearing that red vest, but I will be there.

Pruning a tree and cleaning a rain-gutter now. It's warm enough to be outside.
