Perhaps "Leave no trace" could be a fitting headline, just not on the playa, but online.

Is there anyone, any group, any effort or possibility to meet and learn about safe internet use, cryptology and related topics.
On the playa or within the vast resource that all these attendant represent?

And, unfortunately, I don't reside in San Francisco, but in Maine, where we chop wood and don't write code that much.

I saw there was a bitcoin meetup last year. I tried to make it there but I was about 90 minutes too early and then I sort of just wandered off.

If you check the guide on arrival there might be something similar this year.

Your best bet is to not check the guide (which only has 1550 of several thousand listings), but hit playa info and look it up in the computer terminal there (since that has all the publicly listed events). If you have a smartphone, grab one of the free apps that list events, then update the app just before leaving for the playa, it should contain the latest data dump of events and locations.

Sure, it's viewable now (you'd see everything that will be in the printed guide, since those spots filled up weeks ago), but there are still thousands of things being added.

There is a huge cryptographic community camp at the burn. The location will be in an encrypted message somewhere on the org site (don't forget to check your steganography...) Free bacon to all who find the hidden messages in time...
