9:00 Neighborhood Camps

Alright, what camps (registered or otherwise) are planning on camping in the 8ish to 9:30ish range on the dial? This thread is for camps to announce their locations and intentions… tell us who you are, meet your neighbors!

I'll go first, the Eridu Society will be back and is aiming for the area of 8:30 and Esplanade.

Last year we built the Fertile Minds Idea Deli and had a lot of fun serving up good ideas, bad ideas, crazy ideas, rubber stamps, and the occasional deli pickle or cold drink.

This year we're building a mighty ziggurat and altar to honor the Annunaki, who came down from the heavens and bestowed ancient Sumerians with the gifts of written language, counting, civilization, and the brewing of beer (among many other things). We'll also display some of the curiosities and artifacts that we've collected in our travels through time, space, and several of the better dimensions…

Rising Arms Pub is aiming for somewhere 9 and B or C. Not sure what our specialty drink will be this year but stop in for some drinks.

Stag Camp 7 will be in the area assaulting your auditory senses with funk music, your taste senses with random

and your feel senses with the wood stoves of the night time warming station. Mechanical things will be assisted back in to operational condition at BRC Welding and Repair and a little entrapment may be had in the bondage barber chair.

PleasureFist will be back again, sans gypsies, for another year on the playa at 9 & D or E abouts...

We will have parties and Giant Games...including a garbage can-sized beirut (beer pong) tournament game and nighttime parties on Tuesday and Thursday.
many of our games are alcohol inclusive or related, so 21+ to drink. (many of the games could potentially be played w/o booze, just ask)

Hooray for Stag Camp, Duck Pond, and Pleasurefist! I believe Distrikt is also returning, they're typically around 9:00 & F.

I've also heard from some of my old campmates over at Space Island. They're planning on returning and are aiming for the same neighborhood (8:30 between A & Esplanade).

It IS pretty damned good.

I'm biased. I'm inordinately fond of going around claiming that random people who could not possibly owe me anything actually owe me anywhere from sixty cents to thirty bucks (whatever enigmatic and petty figure seems the most entertaining at the time).

Placement usually is announced this week correct?

have they announced how many submissions they received?

Early July, yes - and despite a record number of camps (well over a thousand) registering, the placement team is still on track to get the word out on time. My guess is that sometime in the next couple days the placers will start reaching out to the camps in their zone (I organized the neighborhood threads by placement zone) to start letting everyone know, one way or another.

I think it takes a few days to get the word out to everyone, if I remember correctly. That's understandable, most of the placers have day jobs and lives/families and all that stuff. All that said, the wait is killing me...I'm impatient and excited and eager to hear about my camp's application.

seriously. i was fine until i got the email from placement saying that they were "moments away" from announcing. that was 5 hours ago. oh the pain.

RAISED BY WOLVES HAS BEEN PLACED!

We will be at Desiderata @ 8:45! Just a short jaunt from the 9 O'Clock plaza. Come visit us from Tuesday - Saturday, 10 - 1pm at our Cafe. We will have delicious Fair Trade coffee from Extracto in Portland, OR and Burn After Reading Magazine Issue No. 2!

Actually, come visit us anytime! We will have a heated Wolf Dome at night, Tigre Bailando's effigy "Lobo Madre", propane burn barrels, yoga classes every morning at 9am and amazing pack energy and howls all of the time!

GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product, and refers to the name of Boulevard G.
