I guarded and taught swimming for about 8 years, and will probably renew my certs next year, even if I don't use 'em much.

Beautiful car Capt. G My grandpa has a '57 Fairlane that's been sitting in his yard for 20 some odd years. Once I get some funds built up I will start restoring that. And I am trying to buy a 74 Cherokee chief right now to make into an off road beast.

Going to Oregon country fair today , its been going on 40 plus years , only been going for 3 years . Never heard about before 3 years ago , same with BM just heard about it last year.

Civil War historical investigation (both genealogical and archival) of the old southern half of the Department of the Pacific, which includes New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. Amazing times happening, and amazing stories coming out of the old West

Fossil hunting for Early Ordovician gastropods and sponges.

Refining my skills as a cook, including Mexican, Chinese, and Cajun cuisine.

Seeking out new new venues for pointless adventures - such as .....standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona....drinking a sprite in Limon, Colorado, drinking a small bottle of Jack Daniels on Old Number 7 Road (completed all three of these last year).....measuring the total length of Short street......cooking or purchasing bacon in Bacon, Missouri; and ordering a f'ing ham sandwich at a restaurant in Effingham, Illinois (the previous three I'll do before December).

What restaurant do you recommend?

A just-thought-of capstone for a trip south of the border - going to Tequila in Jalisco state and drinking tequila.

I've already partaken of Peking Duck in Beijing (Peking), and Springfield Cashew Chicken in Springfield, Missouri (where it was invented by an adventurous Chinese chef, or so they claim). But in the same vein, I'd have to go to Buffalo, New York for Buffalo hot wings, or Philadelphia for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, or Chicago for a true Chicago hot dog.In any case, something for future years.

a little story that that brings to mind:

A world renowned cardiologist died, and was given an elaborate funeral attended by fellow physicians, family members, friends. A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service.
Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever.
