How deep are the streets this year?

our village got placed on 7:30 and Desiderata with a lot of 200 frontage to 7:30 and 200 depth towards D, as long as i remember the distance from street to street was about 200', if that's so, does it mean we got located on 7:30, with frontages on D and E? what you guys think?

Last year the standard blocks were 200' deep, so you're probably correct. Once the map is released we'll know for sure. There are some "double wide" blocks in the back streets, but as of 2012 7:30 & D wasn't in that area.

Also, just because you suddenly have two frontages doesn't mean you need to re-plan your entire camp layout so you have two interactive areas - it does mean, however, that you should plan to make your private area noticeably "not a public space" if it happens to border either D or E.

Our camp is considering putting interactive on both the front and ass end. If we don't go interactive on the back, we'll try to do something that is not butt-ugly. Maybe some of our members would like their residences to face the street in some appealing manner and watch the people go by. Anything but parked cars.

I am completely for this - as long as the people plan it out so that their camp is safe when they're away. Hell, just putting a communal shade structure on the street and having the tents behind that, with their doors facing into the camp (or at least parallel to the street) gives a little extra public/private space separation.

We finally had to park our RV long-side to the street with the door on the "private" side because visitors would just come up knocking at random hours - some even just opening it (we don't lock it when we're inside), without bothering to see if lights were on or people might be awake. We have banners on the side of the RV & shade structures between it & the street. Makes it more inviting, & keeps private space separate.

I like the idea of a communal shade structure. Just a 10x10 EMT conduit canopy with some solar lights and a park bench looks much better than just parked cars. Maybe we'll do that.

We leave chairs in ours all the time, and a small folding table. Sometimes we'll walk out in the morning and some random strangers are taking advantage & we just say hi and join them. Having the paper to offer guests makes a nice ice-breaker as well.

frontages on D and E? what you guys think?

An acquaintance of mine who moved away used to camp with "Cut-through Camp" which had a tiny opening on two circumferential streets that led down a narrow hallway to a (small) public area in the middle. Maybe you could steal his idea. Or modify it to suit. Maybe a back-door to camp or something.
