Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
Yes well they sent me an email, but they don't recognize my email to sign up!
I have refreshed my Burner profile and re-done the volunteer questionnaire (again)... maybe that will help.

hat o'tunes being revamped to accommodate removal and placement on Grai's head. Last year, I pretty much had to cut it off my head, the wires had gotten so knotted around my neck.graidawg wrote:ice volounteering done. now to work on my dance routines. we should get foxfur to do an ice version of his bucket o' fire.

I ran out of patience half way thru the questionnaire (again). Seven six-hour shifts on Perimeter will have to be enough.

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
I sent a message to the support people. I do not understand how they can thank me for submitting my form (again) by email, yes, and then tell me they don't recognize my email address when I try to sign up for my ice shifts! Same email as last year, and the year before...
So glad I have already got my EMS shifts scheduled, sheesh.
Sorry you are having trouble too, Elliot! I hope your GPE shifts go well. Would love to see you at Ice3 on Eplaya Day (Tuesday, yes???).

Filled out the questionnaire last night, this morning had an email from the scheduling thing. Worked like a charm. Signed up!

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
Just reading the instructions for the Ice signups gave me a headache. At GP&E the schedule is easy and intuitive, and last year's information was intact. And gosh, GP&E even telephoned me a little while ago to make sure I was in the loop.
As I recall, last year's Ice signups were easy enough.
Oh well.... This is Burning Man -- complaining does not belong here!
Maybe I'll just show up at Ice Cubed Tuesday. The morning shift? Tuesday is their busiest day, I was told, and Pushers are hardest to recruit.

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
I was able to log in and sign up for a shift using my email and the temp password listed in the arctica email.
Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
I tried that password, but nothing came of it.

The temp password worked for me. Though when I was typing it in, it wasn't showing in the box. Clicked submit/go and it worked

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
I just now logged onto the Shiftboard site. The default password worked for me.
I was able to get my Thursday 9 to Noon shift but was not able to get the Tuesday 9 to Noon shift. It seems like every position must be filled.
Lucky, when you logged in there were available shifts for Tuesday? So, it looks as though the Tuesday morning shift might not have been reserved for eplaya. It would be odd though if the only shift completely filled (at this time) is the Ice Cube Tuesday morning shift. The only other shifts the entire week between all three stations thats full is center camp, noon to 3, on Monday the 26th and the same shift again on Wednesday.
I wonder if they launched the system, then went back in and blocked out the 3 shifts that were already requested by groups.
Ill shoot an email and ask. Hopefully we didn't loose our shift.

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
Ok so I just figured out how to see who is volunteered for that shift.
Looks like all our group.
There are 13 people scheduled for that shift from what I can see.
So, it looks like they have 2 pushers, 2 greeters, 5 slingers, 4 cashiers.
Pffft! That's not enough people!
With that few people you'd actually have to hustle.
On another note, super excited Airport Mayor and Heidi will be the shift leads!
Fuck Yeah!!!

I'll try again, and help Push, if somebody can post -- or PM -- the link to the signup from the e-mail a few days ago. My copy of that e-mail left the building.

Hi illy! When I looked onto the ice schedule last week, Tuesday 9-12 was completely open.
2 pushers? Yeah, we're gonna need more than 2 pushers for any shift

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
Pushers work inside the truck, pushing the ice to the door -- first moving the pallets from deep inside the truck, then lifting the bags and blocks down to the edge of the floor.
Slingers grab the ice off the edge of the truck floor and deliver it to the customers, as requested by the cashiers.

Thanks, again!
I will talk to my sister about signing up to help Push, also.
We'll bring our "wintery clothes"! Hat, mittens!
I tried to sign up a couple days ago and I had to re-register my profile....

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
E-mail from Bobcat Queen just now:
Since we opened up the scheduling on Friday evening, it's been going very well, though some of you have experienced problems.
The most common thing I've heard is:
Shiftboard does not recognize my email address. There is an easy fix for this! Update your Burner Profile. (Even if you already filled out a profile when you bought your ticket).
1. Go to : https://profiles.burningman.com
2. Log in, then click on the PARTICIPATE button on the top bar.
3. On the next page, click on VOLUNTEER QUESTIONNAIRE.
4. Under question #25, click on ARCTICA ICE SALES <-- This is IMPORTANT!! If you don't click on this, you will not be able to access Shiftboard.
Then you WAIT.
What happens from here is a form will be generated and sent to me and the Tech Team. That is how I know that you've completed your profile. After that, the Tech Team has to manually load your info into the Shiftboard system. This could take an hour or it could take a few hours/next day depending on when you do it and availability of person doing it. (If you update your profile at 3am, from the East Coast, expect it to take a little longer - Tech Team is in SF).
Feel free to contact me directly if you are still having trouble after doing this, but please try this first. It has solved most of these issues.
**For anyone who can access Shiftboard, but not the Arctica team (because you registered under Cafe or Playa Info), contact me directly and I will send you the instructions.
Thank you all!
Frosty love,
Bobcat Queen

Oh.... Now I really need the link to the Shiftboard, please, somebody. I discarded that e-mail when it seemed useless, and my pooter apparently does not keep discarded mail for long.

Re: Who's Selling Ice: 2013
Elliot, did your GP&E shift coordination use ShiftBoard? Did you maybe set up a different password for that?
Lucky thanks for sending that info to Elliot.
I just emailed Arctica, asking a few questions about the Tuesday shift, asking if we can add some folks to the 13 positions they have scheduled. In the mean time, its sort of looking like a bunch of eplayans are working the Tuesday Ice Cubed Morning shift.
I tried emailing the Ice Cubed Coordinator back on May 14th but never heard any sort of reply. Apparently something feel through the cracks.
Hopefully we can get something figured out.
Also looking at some of the other shifts, there are a lot of openings for other times at Ice Cubed or shifts at Center Camp. I'm thinking that we see what Arctica replies with and maybe consider working a shift at Center Camp. We can figure that out if we need to, but what are everyone's thoughts in the mean time?
Or we just show up at 8:50 Tuesday dressed as Pirates and take over the shift!!!
