Is there a facility, on or off playa, for recycling Monkey Hut 1" PVC pipe for house plumbing or whatever? The recycling centers lists several products, but not perfectly usable PVC pipe. I know that there have been locations set up to receive and recycle lumber and plywood. I just don't want to throw it out and I can't transport it home.

Why not donate it to a camp?
maladroit- Burning Man is like a second job, except you pay to work there.

Keep an eye out for the EXodus TRAsh blog post that The Hun will likely do again for this year. Here's last year's post, it has some info about dropoff places for recycling and whatnot on the way out.
I don't think used monkey hut pvc can be used in construction - once it's been bent and sun-warped for a week, it's degraded and may not be something contractors can make use of. At the end of the event, take a stroll up to Esplanade at 3 & 9 and probably 6 to (I'm sure it'll get mentioned in either JRS or in the materials handed out at the gate), Burners Without Borders has dropoff locations and at them they usually have clearly labeled areas for the materials they can take. If it's anything like lumber though, I think it needs to be uncut/unused.

Re: Recycling PVC pipe
PVC is not profitable to recycle for most places, adn as Trilo said, it can't really be used in new construction after the ringer we put it through. Maybe try putting it up on CL for free, or keep asking around? The only way it won't be trash is if someone wants it for a private project. Seems you should be able to find someone willing to take it off your hands.

Re: Recycling PVC pipe
Above posters are correct, it so inexpensive, few contractors would take reuse for prime first use. I have used 1 and 3/4 for sprinklers and underground wiring. At standard water pressures, one burn use sch40 pipe buried by soil is perfectly sound. Monkey hut pipe gets a curve, but no problem for buried or anchored interior use. Grey is standard for underground electrical but white is fine. There would be many contractors looking to save a buck in those uses. But the chain of liability could limit any organized BM pipe reuse. Craigslist.
Perhaps the recycling team could contact the Reno Habitat for Humanity and like groups in other burner cities.
