Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I haven't worn a suit in 30 years.

Hey Servicio! What you are reading is called Thread Drift. Many of us here on ePlaya enjoy joking with each other at any opportunity, even in other people's threads. Please tolerate us -- you will get used to it. We seem to feel that humor is not out of place anywhere.

Now.... In an other thread you asked if you might be turned away at the gate. The answer is yes, because I work the gate.
Best wishes.

See! All fun and games. I hope to meet you on the Playa.

Correcting a thread drift requires the coordination of two or more minds. They must work together to focus on the topic, or the thread will devolve quickly into chaos. The most harmful consequences include confusion of the original poster, thread abandonment, or thread moderation. See also: Pacific Rim, "drift space"

It's only "drift" if you subscribe to the archaic notion that things needs to be labeled, pigeonholed, categorized and put in order of some pedantic mindset. A massive dump of info can be processed perfectly fine by a mind that's open and ultimately leads to greater insight and unique and differing interpretations. I find it hysterical when threads are moved/merged and otherwise massaged to fit one individuals perception of what is right and proper. It's all transient ergo a massive waste of time, energy and bandwidth. Frankly, who gives a flying fuck where one individual thinks something belongs?

Back in the day I ran a BBS with no forums, boards, topics, subjects or labels. It didn't suit everyone but those that "got it' received and originated some truly insightful ideas, communication in it's rawest and most primitive state left to each individuals interpretation not dictated by some holier than thou, all knowing entity.

We are all alone in our heads, one can never know what I see is the same that you see, what I hear is the same that you hear, what I feel is the same that you feel, to delude oneself to think that the limited thing we call language can convey these things accurately is pure unadulterated folly. If you think you've ever really connected with someone totally you're just a victim of your own needy desire to think you're not alone. Newsflash: you are and there's not a fucking thing you can do about it. Accepting it seems to me a wiser move than rationalizing, justifying or playing some other mind game to convince yourself otherwise.

Ratty, pass the bottle, they're starting to annoy me (again),

Me? I'm just trying to suppress my impulse to start singing about "Istanbul, not Constantinople" because I can think of nothing less pertinent or more likely to mark me as a self-involved American who's closest experience to going abroad has been eating at Panda Express.

My youngest went to China and came back with TB, she's probably better off than what she'd contract at PE.
