I love this thread.
1) Every single one of you has been funny in it, and 2) it gives me something to read while I procrastinate.

Why is bringing everything you own considered more lazy than figuring out what you need? A jar of spare change or an empty scotch tape dispenser might come in handy.

Re: Playa Prep Procrastinators
Further evidence that there are as many ways to burn as their are burners. I've known people who've pulled it all together on short notice and had a great time. My girlfriend's first burn (a long time ago) was a 3-day prep, I think the most anybody in her camp had was 7 days. They lived, had a great time, and many of them have moved on to many spectacular projects and camps over the years.
I feel like most everything I do involves some level of procrastination. The podbelt utility belt thing that I finally got this week? I'd been meaning to either get or make one of my own since 2005. There are a dozen or so little projects for this year that I've been thinking about throughout the year and I'm determined to make them happen this year, but so far haven't moved them forward. :::sigh::: It's a process...

Re: Playa Prep Procrastinators
every procrastinator know the delicious moment at which you have exactly enough time to get done what you need to get done, as long as you work non-stop for 36-48 hours with a tunnel vision that would make a mole shudder.
that rubicon can be marked by a mere few seconds, as i have made flights by such a narrow margin....
the sheer joy of accomplishing said task, robotic and machine like, within moments of deadline is almost better than sex.....almost.
it is not for the faint of heart however, especially if you use stimulants to achieve your goal.
yeah, i KNOW you know what i'm talking about...

I don't know, wasn't there a thread: "3,000 Burners needed to stay home"? I could participate like that. I mean maybe, if I applied myself. The last second planning required to do nothing scares me a little, but I've got the momentum.

wow, you really reached into my soul with that one Elorrum, that is my exact rationale for procrastinating. Today I'm organizing my closet so that my label maker and costume supplies will be easier to find so that I can put together my hexayurt next weekend (sure, it'll happen)Elorrum wrote:Before I can get started, I have to finally organize Everthing. Then get my shit together in the last 3 possible days.
