Well first you have to really get to know your tent, have a long heart to heart over a drink or two. find out what it's like/dislikes are, listen carefully and play very close attention to not only what it says but subtle clues and nuances like body language, tone of voice and facial expression. Only then can you truly begin to understand it's frame of mind, what makes it tick and how best to treat it.
